April 17, 2025: Hear Dr. William Frank discuss MIT seismic study in SW Pennsylvania where M3 and larger earthquakes now average over 200 annually

For over a decade, many residents living in our region have experienced vibrations inside their homes at an increasing rate. From 1973-2008 the central and eastern US had an average of 25 earthquakes of magnitude three and larger (M3+) per year. Since 2008 we have averaged over 200 earthquakes of M3+ per year.

To learn more, we have teamed up with Dr. William Frank and his team from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to deploy seismic monitors throughout our community. Please join us to hear Dr. Frank discuss his study being conducted in our community.

Justice for the Coalfields!

Southwestern Pennsylvania has an extraordinary overlap of extractive industries and is home to the largest producing underground coal mine in North America as well as over three thousand fracked gas drilling and midstream operations. For over a century, these extractive industries have controlled our local economies to create a captive workforce who is dependent upon them to meet their basic needs. In short, these industries have dictated to the people of this region what they are worth and what future they deserve.

The Center for Coalfield Justice is working with residents in Washington and Greene Counties to shift that power back to the people who love and care about the places they call home.

Did frac’ing/waste injection induced quakes (5.03M) at Musreau Lake Alberta induce the 4.7M and 5.4M earthquakes on the BC coast? Burst pipes are not minor damages, especially if transporting gas.

3.3M earthquake near Longview. Alberta Geological Survey “said it’s not aware of any damage ever being recorded in Alberta from an earthquake.” Liar Liar, Pants on Fire. Shame on you AGS.

Updated: More frac quakes! 4.7M (AER lists it as 5.03; 7.1km depth), 4M (1km depth) and many smaller earthquakes hit near Grande Cache, felt in Alberta and BC. Obviously, AER’s and BCER’s Traffic Light “mitigation” system isn’t working.
