Truth and Reconciliation every day. No more lies. No more leaving murdered Indigenous women in landfills. No more Christian white man hate towards those whose stolen lands we live on. No more rape of Indigenous or their stolen lands.
Orange Shirt Day is a time to reflect on Canada’s continuing violence against Indigenous children.
It is a time to remember that Canada still takes Indigenous children from their families.
It is time to demand that these crimes stop. Not 150 years from now. Not a decade from now. NOW.

What? Did not know this still happened. @breeno.bsky.social:
Over half of the kids in foster care in Canada are Indigenous kids.
Provinces are financially incentivized to apprehend Indigenous children into foster care.
Provinces get federal transfer payments for each Indigenous child in provincial foster care. This “industry” generates $1 billion per year. @mad-wolf.bsky.social:
Keep in mind that, according to the United Nations definition of genocide, removing children from one ethnic or racial group and putting them with another is genocide.

@AnitaAnandMP:
On this National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we remember the children who never returned home and the survivors and their families affected by the painful legacy of residential schools.
Today, I will join members of our community in #Oakville as we remember and recommit to walking the path of reconciliation together. #EveryChildMatters
