When the Canada West Foundation released a report on water this week titled Stress Points, the think-tank concluded water issues are “beginning to emerge” in Western Canada and there will be economic consequences if they’re not addressed…. “Western Canada is facing a range of challenges such as . . . natural resource development that is taking place without a full understanding of the cumulative environmental effects and increased competition among multiple stakeholders for a fixed – and many argue, declining – water supply.”
