Grassy Narrows First Nation: Something in the Water. After decades of broken gov’t promises, the mercury poisoning continues and a new threat of nuclear waste storage up river looms with more broken promises via lack of consultation.

“A new study suggests Youth at Grassy Narrows are three times more likely to attempt suicide than other First Nations and experts have linked the Staggering statistic to mercury poisoning.”

“It’s considered one of the worst environmental disasters in the country and the effects are everlasting. There’s no treatment for mercury poisoning.”

“From what I understand is that they’re trying to bring nuclear waste like and store it up river from us. It’s actually you know a very bad idea.”

“This is a monster of a fight you know, especially the nuclear waste one.”

@stanleykubrick8786:

This is incredibly sad.

It’s the job of our Police to Serve and Protect us, the citizens, but instead, they take a warped view usually favouring corporations.

It seems like such a pristine earth, but it’s all a mirage because the damage is so widespread now.

Alberta is a similar ecological disaster yet everyone walks around like they’re auditioning for Idiocracy Part 2.

The people of Grassy Narrows are not alone because everyone is now intoxicated with harmful substances that are present throughout the world.

Growing up on the west end of the Island of Montreal, my friends and I played outside when planes fogged us with DDT to kill mosquitoes. By the time I was four, I was having nightmares about humans polluting water. My world has always been toxic, one of the many reasons I chose not to have kids. No way, would I force another being into living a life of being poisoned. Everything poisons us; breathing, eating, drinking, bathing, swimming, working, play, … and then there’s frac’ing.
