The outrageous news that Bonnie Henry is receiving the Order of Canada is making all the horrors my mom was subjected in her LTC facility replay in my head. Infected with c19 over and over again because staff refused to mask, using the excuse that “Bonnie says we don’t have to”.
Some Canadians deserve the Order of Canada, like brilliant cartoonist Michael de Adder, but in my view, most of the awards are not at all deserved, and are granted intentionally to do precisely what Henry’s did to many and what Gwyn Morgan’s did to me and others in my community – abuse us all over again.
