Pennsylvania: Dimock’s water frac’d and poisoned for 14 years (Rosebud’s for over 20). Craig Stevens: “We have a right as Pennsylvania citizens to clean air and clean water.” Ray Kemble: “Lobbying should be illegal. … The lobbyists outnumber us three to one. … No one will enforce the constitution.” No one will in Canada either where judges lie in rulings and keep secrets to protect charter-violating frac-enabler AER, 100% funded and controlled by industry.
Jason Peters spoke with Ray Kemble, a resident of Dimmock, Pennsylania and Craig Stevens, a Silver Lake Township resident, about the poisoning of Dimmock’s water for 14 years and counting due to fracking. The crisis of water and air poisoning has grown as more towns are becoming victims of the government or corporation poisoning them, then the EPA covering it up.
A proportion (25% to 100%) of the water used in hydraulic fracturing is not recovered, and consequently this water is lost permanently to re-use, which differs from some other water uses in which water can be recovered and processed for re-use.
“By any responsible account,” Chief Justice Castille wrote, “the exploitation of the Marcellus Shale Formation will produce a detrimental effect on the environment, on the people, their children, and the future generations, and potentially on the public purse, perhaps rivaling the environmental effects of coal extraction.”
