Dear Internationalist,

Yesterday a judge accepted a trademark infringement request from Indigo requiring Telus, Bell, Rogers, Videotron and other telecommunications companies to block the website Indigo Kills Kids (https://foreignpolicy.us10.list-manage.com/track/click?u=aa2b81e46c28d35221fa42ad3&id=7a884d7ea0&e=fb7c720b1e) . The ruling comes days before protests are planned at dozens of Indigo stores on September 25. Check out the website

Among the site’s demands is for the Canada Revenue Agency to revoke the charitable status of the HESEG Foundation for Lone Soldiers. Owners of Indigo, Heather Reisman and Gerry Schwartz have received at least $100 million in public subsidy for donations to a charity they established to support non-Israelis joining a military brutalizing Palestinians. But, HESEG is almost certainly violating CRA rules, as the revenue agency's rationale for revoking the Ne'eman Foundation’s charitable status confirms.

CFPI and Just Peace Advocates recently detailed the scandalous subsidy given to the billionaire power couple in a press release (https://foreignpolicy.us10.list-manage.com/track/click?u=aa2b81e46c28d35221fa42ad3&id=78cacec0d1&e=fb7c720b1e)  that piked the interest of a young CBC reporter. She asked for source material, submitted multiple written questions and interviewed rabbi David Mivasair though no story has appeared (as has happened on other occasions when journalists from establishment outlets have expressed interest in Israel-focused charities).
Now that Indigo has succeeded in censoring a website tied to the subject maybe some outlets will cover the scandalous public subsidy Heather Reisman and Gerry Schwartz have received for assisting the Israeli military. It has far greater moral and legal implications than activists employing Indigo's logo to raise awareness of its owners helping Israel, well, “kill kids”.

Over the past year the Israeli military has killed many tens of thousands in Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen and the West Bank. Please take a minute to ask the Canadian government to list the IDF as a terrorist organization. 

Take Action In a victory against Israeli military supporting registered charities, the Canada Revenue Agency recently suspended the charitable status of the Emunim Fund. You can learn more about this decision in a Talking Foreign Policy interview on “Canada’s most significant support for Israel”. The Israel charity scandal CFPI has been campaigning on for years is increasingly seeping into the mainstream discussion with the CBC covering subsidies to the Israeli military and the National Post editorial board complaining about activists seeking “to strip the HESEG Foundation of its charitable status.”
 
An addendum was recently submitted to a CRA complaint concerning United Israel Appeal. Take a minute to tell the CRA to investigate Canada’s most important Israel focused charity.
