Harper praising Carney for fast tracking catastrophic projects. Any person supporting Carney should be hanging their head in shame.
@inglorious.bsky.social:
“I do congratulate our current federal government on the measures it has taken to fast-track major project approvals, especially for projects in the oil sands. These changes are welcome and they are very important. Ironically, if we do not do these things as a country, the Americans will not lack the urgency that we have lacked here in Canada. Nor will many others in the world.
That is why I have to say that I am very encouraged by the detailed comments the prime minister made today… and I welcome them.”
Worst PM Canada had until his more evil twin Carney conned his way into power to finish off what Harper failed to get done
Stephen Harper, praising the cont. of his policies under Carney.
@heathcliff3.bsky.social:
Yup! When the Devil is singing your praises it should give any thinking person pause.

@redsnoopy69:
Stephen Harper(former Canadian PM) and his IDU endorsed Donald Trump 3 times.
Why doesn’t Pete Hoekstra call that foreign interference?

That speech at the summit was so revealing on so much.

Mark Carney is not here for you. Fossil fuels are so obscenely profitable that the industry’s net profits have averaged more than $3 Billion per day for more than fifty years. No one is in less need of public handouts.
This image contains four different images in quadrants. In the top left, we see a huge pile of stacks of hundred dollar bills. Text over that part of the image reads: Big oil’s record profits in Canada this year may reach $100 Billion. In the top right, we see the grinning face of prime minister Mark Carney. Text over that part of the image reads: They get a new $40 Billion pipeline at public expense. In the bottom left we see a point of view image of someone looking into an empty wallet. Text over that part of the image reads: Half of Canadians are increasingly struggling to meet basic needs. In the bottom left we see Mark Carney looking stern while holding up a finger as if he’s about to wag it at us. Text over that part of the image reads: We get $50 billion in cuts to health care transfers.

@sustainablesong.bsky.social:
Trump’s Iran war has big oil making their all time highest profits. They are the richest they have ever been, and tar sands profits for the biggest oil companies operating in Canada might hit $100 Billion this year alone.
$13.3B in 3-Month Profit Shows Oil Sands Companies ‘Raking It In’ on Middle East War
Canada’s biggest oil companies are cashing in on Donald Trump’s war on Iran, with the four biggest oil sands producers reporting a staggering $13.3 billion in profits in the three months ending June 3…
Seventy percent of Canada’s oil industry is foreign owned, and the vast majority of that ownership is American. Canadian taxpayer dollars doing favours for big oil is making people in Trump’s USA richer far more than it’s creating benefits for Canada and Canadians.
A new publicly funded pipeline is a terrible idea for Canada even if it wasn’t also climate suicide.
Carney Almost as Bad as Trump on Climate, Emissions Watchdog Warns – DeSmog
Things aren’t looking as rosy for everyday citizens. Average Canadian incomes have been effectively stagnant for more than forty years
while neoliberal economnic policies steadily drove inequality to entirely unheard of extremes.
Opinion Canadians face 40 years of stagnant incomes – government’s economic strategy is failing, The only way to feel confident about future Canadian living standards is to avoid looking at the data
Not only did cost of living skyrocket with the arrival of Covid, but growth in median Canadian wages isn’t catching up & is still slower than cost of living inflation, leaving households ever farther behind.
Statistics Canada warns us that nearly half of all Canadians have trouble meeting their basic household needs, with no relief in sight.
So how is Mark Carney responding to the worst cost of living crisis in generations? With things like fifty billion dollars in cuts to federal health care transfers.
Oil profits matter to this PM. Your physical well being does not.
Planned changes to Ottawa’s Canada Health Transfer could slash more than $50B from public health care over a decade, planned changes to Ottawa’s Canada Health Transfer in the 2028-2029 fiscal year will likely result cuts of more than $50 billion for health care in Canada’s provinces and territories over the subseque…
That’s just his health care cuts, though. He’s also cutting tens of billions of dollars out of other vital public services at the same time, so even if you’re lucky enough not to need health care, you’ll still suffer.

@sashafury.myatproto.social:
At first, I gave Carney’s supporters the benefit of the doubt because it was clear Carney had swindled voters, but if you still think his “national interest” means anything other than unrestraining corporate greed, then I can’t help you. You are lost.
I can’t even.
I don’t like “national interest” as a motivator anyway. But even if you think Canadian nationalism is a good thing, it’s clear he’s simply using this as cover for his corruption (which is what all nationalist politicians do).
@christyceeck.bsky.social:
You think Mark Carney cares about the Southern Resident killer whales? He most definitely doesn’t.
This was late Friday taking-out-the-trash announcement from the Carney govt that is absolute trash.
If you don’t know already, govts release news late on Fridays in the hope it gets missed.

@mark-carney.bsky.social & @evansolomon.bsky.social are you aware this will result in killing & sacrificing Alberta, first, in your race to enable AI? #WonderValley is a #climate bomb & perhaps worst of all it’s unnecessary.

Neither Danielle Smith nor Mark Carney seem overly concerned about this. Like at all.
@robbpettit.bsky.social:
Also @naheednenshi.bsky.social, the Alberta NDP need to stop waffling on AI, we need someone on our side
In my view and experience, Alberta’s NDP (and federally) are pro American polluter anti-Canadian con parties too. Useless traitors.![]()
@orionkidder.bsky.social:
And yes, I think Carney’s goal is to make big companies rich. He doesn’t give a single dog shit about Canadians who aren’t billionaires. These people believe “money = good,” and that’s the end of the thought process. I’ve looked some of them in the eye while they say these things. It’s sociopathic.

@sustainablesong.bsky.social:
Carney supporters keep insisting that at worst he’s a “red tory” or “old school progressive conservative.” He’s not.
To actually be those things he’d have to serve up at least a tiny glint of progressive in his policies. He doesn’t.
His policies are Stephen Harper on steroids through and through.
and, anti democratic IDU. Like all Canadian cons, Carney has no imagination, everything he does he copies .. from Harper and or Trump or the Nazis.![]()
Why Mark Carney’s government is using Stephen Harper’s talking points to fight young people in court by Althia Raj, National Columnist, Nov 1. 2026, Toronto Star

Monday evening, in what was once a Bank of Montreal, Prime Minister Mark Carney dined across from his guest of honour, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, whom he seated next to former prime minister Stephen Harper.

It is not the first time Carney has signalled close ties to Harper. In September, Harper gave the closing remarks at Carney’s Canada Investment Summit in Toronto, where he framed Carney’s agenda as a continuation of his own.

If that wasn’t already obvious — from omnibus bills to his energy-sector focus — it was even more so last week.
As Carney hosted the Crown Prince in Ottawa, in a Vancouver Federal Courtroom, where a group of young people are taking the government to task for failing to live up to its climate commitments, a government lawyer echoed Conservative talking points as they argued against a law Justin Trudeau’s Liberals passed intended to tie the hands of future governments on climate action.
Carney and his Harper KKKlan are beyond disgusting![]()
Federal lawyer BJ Wray repeatedly told Justice Simon Fothergill that “climate change is a global problem that can only be remedied with a global solution.”
Bullshit, you fucking liar. Canada’s tarshits is the most polluting health harming energy on earth; Canada/Alberta must clean that pollution up, not any other countries, certainly not the poorest suffering the harms from climate change the most![]()
For 20 years, Conservatives have said the same thing. “Climate change is a global problem that requires a global solution,” former government house leader Peter Van Loan said in the House of Commons in 2007.

“Climate change is a big international problem,” Harper said back in 2011. He suggested Canada had a role to play. His government set greenhouse gas emission reduction targets but failed to meet them.
In court, Wray argued Canada has no obligation to mitigate against the impacts of climate change in a particular way.
“The evidence in this case will show the harms are not inflicted by the government,” Wray said.
OMG, you evil piece of lying shit. Carney is dismantling all environmental protections serving primarily the worst polluters on earth, Nazi America’s military, Nazi American AI and oil and gas (the majority of tarshit producers in Alberta are fucking American). Alberta is a rogue state that never cleans up after polluters, especially not American polluters. Canada is fucking responsible to hold the companies to account, and make them clean up, but instead, is mass deregulating to let polluters rape, pollute and profit billions more.![]()
“At all? Not even partially?” the judge asked.
“Climate change itself is a global phenomenon. And … the only way that it can be addressed is through those collective efforts,” Wray repeated, adding “neither can Canada address the reduction of domestic greenhouse gases on its own.”
JFC! This lying lawyer is a douche. WE learn in grade school we are each responsible to clean up our own messes, that includes companies raping out billions of dollars in profits, while refusing to pay taxes and refusing to pay to clean up. The judge better have some brains to see through the Harper-Carney web of lies.![]()
The Carney government is arguing in court that the Charter does not encompass the right to a safe climate, and that the government is not bound by its own law — the Net-Zero Accountability Act — although it was purposefully designed to impose legally binding targets.
In introducing the legislation, then environment minister Jonathan Wilkinson said the Liberals promised to “create a legally binding process for all future governments to set national climate targets that will achieve the science-based goal of net-zero emissions by 2050. Bill C-12, the Canadian net-zero emissions accountability act, is the fulfilment of our commitment to Canadians to put these legally binding processes in place,” he said.
In court, Wray suggested Canada’s emissions are on a downward trajectory — although studies show they are not, and are, in fact, projected to increase. The latest report from the Commissioner of the Environment and Sustainable Development tabled Thursday found Canada is not on pace to meet its target of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 40 to 45 per cent below 2005 levels by 2030, and that Canada is even further from the target because the federal government “has cancelled or weakened several measures from its 2030 Emissions Reduction Plan.” The commissioner also suggested Health Canada needs to do more follow-through on harmful pesticides just as the Carney government is pushing an omnibus budget bill that ends mandatory re-evaluation of pesticides.
That bill, C-31, is increasingly facing push back from civil society; same with C-39, the government’s controversial Building Canada Strong Act, which now has the Canadian Bar Association warning that safeguards are needed to address Indigenous rights and the environmental protections so that the approvals the government wants on projects are not legally vulnerable.
Labour groups upset with C-39’s infringement on the right to strike are setting up a “war room,” warning that Carney risks “triggering years of labour conflict and costly constitutional challenges.”
But Wednesday, Carney showed he doesn’t care when he voted in person against an NDP motion, supported by the Conservatives, that sought to remove s.107 from Canada Labour Code — the minister’s contested ability to end strikes. That image is bound to be repeated in election ads.
On Friday, at 4 p.m., the government sent the same message — that it does not care about C-39 opposition, when it announced the listing of the Roberts Bank Terminal 2 as a project of national interest, a designation that will allow it to amend and, if C-39 passes, remove environmental conditions placed upon the already-approved project — to protect the Southern Resident Killer Whales, for example.
These are far from the only controversial measures revealed last week. Despite encouraging free visits to Canada’s national park, the Carney government told 2,917 Parks Canada employees — in places such as Banff, Jasper and Gros Morne — two-thirds of the workforce, that their jobs are at risk. The head of the Major Projects Office, Dawn Farrell revealed to MPs that her office has staff paid by private sector to do government work — but, so far, the government has refused to say what companies are involved and how many employees are affected.
Carney has a majority, is popular, and is flooding the media with several announcements each day. But, just like with Harper, much more is happening behind the scenes than what the government is putting up in the display window.
