Zionistiche Scheißerei; Israel and the oil patch own the NDP! It’s an inhumane anti-democracy Nazi party just like the Carney – Pee Pees, bars pro peace Yves Engler from running for leadership (and from public party meetings). Yves is the only one with sufficient morals, courage, intelligence and integrity to take on Israel’s genocide and Alberta’s big polluters. Did NDP reject Yves because he’s not a lying genocidaire serving Israel? Disgusting.

I made the mistake of joining the Alberta NDP to vote for Nenshi as leader because some kind of opposition is vitally needed to counter the Nazi human rights violating separatist UCP. Pathetic waste, Nenshi’s done little to stand up to the abuses by Queen Danielle Trump lover and her Canada-destroying ultra vulgar traitorous UCP. Worse, Nenshi fucking supports Carney and Smith’s Trump serving, anti-Indigenous, anti-Canada polluting racist MOU.

All I got was spam, lies and propaganda, and non stop begging for money by the Alberta NDP. I repeatedly asked for them to stop sending me their crap, and to remove my email address from all their files. The spam and begging not only continued, they recently gave my private email address to fucking Avi Lewis, Heather McPhearson and others running for leadership of the federal NDP – without my permission and they happily misused it trying to enhance their personal gain. Unacceptable!.

The NDP violated my privacy rights to beg for my vote and money, and then lies about it when called on it and told to stop it. None of the rights-abusing NDPs apologized to me. I will never vote for any party that violates our rights and supports genocide, and worse, tried(s) to silence and violate the freedom of expression rights of members protesting genocide/Zionism.

I have never supported the federal NDP and never will because they are a cowardly racist pro polluter Zionist extremely conservative party that works to silence and syngerize anyone trying to stand for clean air, water, food and land, Peace for Palestinians and equality for all.

The NDP have always been a conservative party. Even Jack Layton betrayed Canadians and Canada and me and my lawsuit, giving Harper his majority (Harper appointed 7/9 of the supreme court judges that damaged our charter in their ruling on my case), to serve his own ego, selfishnesx and personal gain. There was nothing NDP about Layton.

The only true NDP I’ve seen with leadership material is Yves Engler and the NDP banned him!

Heather McPhearson cannot be trusted with her oil patch lawyer husband.

The Zionistche NDP prove they are controlled by Israel, undemocratic and anti peace if they do not allow Yves to run for leadership.

The emails are having an impact. NDP National Director Lucy Watson has responded by attempting to manage dissent within Federal Council. In a lengthy and misleading email to councillors, Watson claims that my exclusion was “not about ideology or policy positions” and that “the overwhelming majority” of emails councillors have received “are not from members of the Party.” This appears to be an attempt to constrain Federal Councillors’ ability to act independently. Please email Federal Council — which is meeting tonight — and urge councillors to investigate this deeply flawed vetting decision and defend members’ right to decide. TAKE ACTION! Beginning this week, we are escalating with coordinated information pickets and public meetings at NDP offices and venues across the country.

Leaked Email: NDP Director Lucie Watson Moves to Control Engler Fallout by Global Green News, December 15, 2025

The New Democratic Party is facing escalating internal turmoil following the exclusion of pro-Palestinian author and activist Yves Engler from the federal leadership race. Global Green News has obtained a leaked internal email from Lucie Watson, National Director of the NDP, which reveals a coordinated effort by party headquarters to manage — and tightly contain — the growing backlash over Engler’s expulsion from the leadership race which has now reaching the party’s Federal Council. Engler has encouraged supporters to email council to have his expulsion overturned.

In the email, Watson warns councillors about a surge of correspondence urging them to overturn the decision of the party’s three-person Leadership Vote Committee. She characterizes the campaign as largely external to the party and instructs councillors on how — or whether — to respond.

“On a review of some of the senders of previous emails, the overwhelming majority are not from members of the Party,” Watson writes, adding that councillors are “under no obligation to respond.”

Engler strongly disputes Watson’s characterization of the campaign, telling Global Green News that the emails flooding councillors’ inboxes reflect genuine concern from within the party — not outside interference.

“We are receiving copies of the messages. There are hundreds of them that have been personally crafted, with details about individuals’ time as NDP members and their role in supporting the party.”

Engler calls Watson’s claim that the messages are “overwhelmingly coming from non-members” “absurd.”

Pre-Emptive Discipline: Managing Dissent On Council Before It Emerges

The leaked email from National Director Lucie Watson does more than summarize a completed decision — it functions as a pre-emptive discipline memo aimed at Federal Council members themselves.

Before any formal debate has taken place, councillors are told they are “under no obligation to respond” to the wave of emails calling for Engler’s reinstatement and are offered technical assistance to divert the messages into a separate folder if they become “distracting.” The implication is clear: engagement with the issue is not encouraged.

Watson also explicitly instructs councillors to rely on “approved toplines,” to avoid ideological discussion, and to redirect all media inquiries to party headquarters. This guidance sharply narrows the space for independent judgment or public dissent — particularly striking given that Federal Council is the only body with the authority to override the vetting decision.

By framing outreach from party members as a nuisance, discouraging response, and supplying scripted language in advance, the national office appears less focused on facilitating internal deliberation than on containing it. The email does not invite councillors to assess the merits of the case or review disputed evidence. Instead, it emphasizes message discipline, procedural finality, and reputational risk management.

For critics, this raises a deeper question: if the leadership race itself has been closed to debate through exclusion, is the party now attempting to shut down debate within its own governing body before it even begins?

Central Control and Message Discipline

Beyond the question of membership, Watson’s email provides councillors with explicit talking points, discourages engagement with the media, and urges strict message discipline.

“Please lean on the approved toplines when asked about the decision.”

“Please avoid ideological debate, speculation about process, personal exchanges, or commentary on legal matters.”

The guidance raises questions about the role of Federal Council itself — a body meant to provide political oversight — and whether councillors are being encouraged to deliberate independently or simply relay headquarters’ messaging.

A ‘Sloppy’ Vetting Decision Under Scrutiny

Engler argues that the leadership vetting process itself is now becoming a liability for party leadership the more closely it is examined.

One of the reasons cited for rejecting his application was the claim that he had “expressed an intention to run for the Green Party of Canada” while campaigning for the NDP leadership.

“The source for this claim was a Bluesky impersonation account,” Engler said. “The campaign publicly denounced it and tried to have it taken down. It’s an obvious parody account.”

The vetting committee also referenced unsubstantiated claims that Engler « harassed » politicians by asking the questions at political events.

‘Not About Ideology’ — Despite Political Grounds Cited

In her email, Watson insists that Engler’s exclusion “is not about ideology or policy positions.” Yet the vetting committee’s written reasons cite Engler’s stances on NATO, sanctions, Palestine, Syria, Russia, and Rwanda — all explicitly political positions.

Engler calls this contradiction impossible to ignore.

“That claim is simply bizarre,” he said.

“They list numerous political positions to justify rejecting my candidacy.”

A Leadership Race Under a Cloud

Watson’s email makes clear that party headquarters anticipates “heightened public attention” and signals that the party is shifting to crisis mode may now respond more aggressively by publishing more information since Engler has waived confidentiality.

What remains unresolved is whether Federal Council members will act as independent political representatives as they are supposed to — or if they will follow the tightly scripted “guidance” or orders now coming from the national director.

December 9, 2025
Last week the NDP hosted its first leadership debate. Foreign policy was completely omitted and there wasn’t any discussion of Mark Carney ploughing hundreds of billions of dollars into the military.

In another example of the party’s hostility to internationalism and peace, the party’s three person vetting committee just rejected the candidacy of CFPI co-founder Yves Engler. Please email the NDP Federal Council to demand they reverse this anti-internationalist decision. Take Action Largely focused on Engler’s foreign policy positions, the vetting committee’s explanation for blocking members’ right to select Engler is stunning. In their evidence rejecting his candidacy they claim, “Many of your public positions contradict the NDP’s core commitments to democracy, international law, and solidarity with oppressed peoples”. Fuck what a panel of liars! NDP are disgusting racists and pro genocide Zionists! Nothing respectful of the rule of law, democracy, and genocided peoples in that party which is why Yves Engler must be allowed to run for leader. The NDP need a massive house cleaning!

But, Engler has repeatedly challenged Canada’s role in overthrowing elected governments. He’s also repeatedly criticized Canada’s violations of international law and acted in “solidarity with oppressed peoples”.

NDP takes Orwellian world view to deny my candidacy Dec 9, 2025

Up is down. Right is left. International law is whatever empire says it is. Democracy is following our rules.

The audacity, chauvinism and absurdity of the NDP vetting committee is a sight to behold. To justify denying party members the right to choose whether they want me to lead the party, the three-person backroom committee is citing “democracy”.

In their evidence rejecting my candidacy they claimed, “Many of your public positions contradict the NDP’s core commitments to democracy, international law, and solidarity with oppressed peoples”. Leaving aside the ridiculousness of ‘vetters’ claiming the mantle of democracy, I have done as much as any other to challenge Canada’s role in overthrowing elected governments. I co-authored a book about the 2004 coup in Haiti and have discussed Canada’s role in ousting Patrice Lumumba, Mohammed Mossadegh and Salvador Allende. My latest (co-authored) book, Canada’s Long Fight Against Democracy, details Ottawa’s role in 20 US-backed coups.

As I detailed in Left, Right: Marching to the Beat of Imperial Canada, the NDP ignored Canada’s role in ousting Mossadegh. Even more the party effectively backed Canada’s contribution to overthrowing democracy in Congo in 1960 and seeking to do so in Venezuela in 2019.

Claiming that my positions contradict “solidarity with oppressed peoples” is a grotesque mischaracterization. I’ve written books about Canada’s role in subjugating people in Africa, Haiti and Palestine. My activism has aggressively challenged Canada’s role in the holocaust in Gaza.

As part of these efforts, I’ve repeatedly pointed out how the NDP has failed to offer “solidarity with oppressed people”. The party formally backed the racist Core Group in Haiti and until recently participated in the pro-apartheid Canada Israel Interparliamentary Group.

Claiming that my positions contradict international law is also absurd. In fact, over the past two decades, few have criticized Canada’s violations of international law more.

Among other things, I have written about how Canadian sanctions often violate international law. In 2020 I wrote “Do Canada’s unilateral sanctions violate international law?” and have supported various initiatives questioning the legality of Canadian sanctions. For its part, the NDP has repeatedly backed Ottawa imposing unilateral sanctions and seems to have entirely ignored whether unilateral sanctions violate international law.

I’ve written about how Canada’s support for Israeli and US policy has enabled those countries’ to violate international law. Too often the NDP has been silent in these violations of international law.

I have also written about how Canada’s 1999 bombing of Yugoslavia, which wasn’t sanctioned by the UN Security Council, contravened international law. The NDP backed Canada’s significant contribution to NATO’s 78-day bombing, only turning critical over a month after it began.

Unlike Yugoslavia, the Security Council sanctioned intervention in Libya through resolutions 1970 and 1973. Still, the scope of the Canadian-led NATO bombing violated those resolutions. Additionally, Canadian special forces and private security firm GardaWorld’s presence in Libya directly contravened the UN resolutions.

The NDP voted twice in Parliament to attack Libya. Party interim leader Nycole Turmel also applauded the killing of Muammar Gaddafi, which was a war crime and part of NATO’s violation of resolutions 1970 and 1973.

During the first official NDP leadership debate on November 27 not a single question about international affairs or Mark Carney’s radical militarism was asked. The NDP has no lessons to give on international law or solidarity with oppressed people. Blocking party members from choosing a candidate in the name of upholding “democracy” is simply Orwellian.

Please email the NDP Federal Council and urge them to overturn this anti-democratic decision and allow Yves Engler to run.

NDP rejects Yves Engler as leadership candidate by Marie Woolf, Dec 9, 2025, The Globe and Mail

The NDP has rejected Yves Engler, an author and left-wing PRO PEACEactivist, from standing for the leadership for the party alleging he had harassed, intimidated and confronted elected officials. It also expressed concern he had echoed Russian state propaganda about the invasion of Ukraine.

Mr. Engler was told at the end of last month that his application to join the leadership race had been rejected after consideration by the party’s vetting committee. He asked for a formal review of the decision.

But the NDP did not change its ruling, communications between the party and Mr. Engler show.

The committee cited a number of concerns about the socialist activist’s potential candidacy. In a confidential e-mail to Mr. Engler, seen by The Globe and Mail, the committee said one concern was that he had echoed “Russian state propaganda with respect to the Russo-Ukrainian war and Nato.”

In an interview, Mr. Engler a former union researcher and author of 13 books, denied the claim, saying he has publicly condemned on dozens of occasions Russia’s invasion of Ukraine as illegal and brutal. He added: “I have no sympathy for Vladimir Putin.”

Opinion: The NDP should become the Canadian champion of class-based politics

He said it should be up to the party membership to decide who succeeds Jagmeet Singh as leader.

“The notion that the three-person vetting committee would say that NDP members don’t have the right to choose …. that’s pretty Orwellian,” he said.

In its reasons for rejecting him, the NDP’s Leadership Vote Committee alleged Mr. Engler had made “comments consistent with antisemitic rhetoric.”

It also said he had repeated and amplified the term “Holocaust industry” to denigrate Holocaust remembrance efforts. Mr. Engler said the term was not coined by him but by a Jewish scholar whose family had perished in the Holocaust.

Mr. Engler’s lawyer Dimitri Lascaris said in the letter to the NDP committee charged with reviewing the decision that Mr. Engler had publicly condemned antisemitism on dozens of occasions.

The NDP had also cited concerns that Mr. Engler, who writes about international affairs, had called for the abolition of Canada’s list of terrorist organizations. Critics of the list, which includes some unions and human rights activists, have claimed it is politicized and gives the government powers to ban an organization that cannot fairly mount a defence.

NDP leadership candidates acknowledge French-language gap in Montreal debate

The NDP e-mail to Mr. Engler also expressed concern he had made “comments suggesting sympathy for the regime of former Syrian dictator, Bashar Al-Assad.” A lengthy letter sent by his lawyer to the party disputes the NDP’s claims.

Mr. Engler argued that the NDP should have allowed him to join the race along with MP Heather McPherson, Rob Ashton, Tanille Johnston and Tony McQuail so the membership could hear his policies.

“What are they scared of?Your courage, integrity and honesty. NDP are Zionistiche sleazy cowardsIf no one supports these ideas, if everyone just thinks I’m a Putin asset that denies the Rwandan genocide, that is antisemitic, that is whatever they’re claiming, then let members decide, and I’ll get no votes,” he said. “But I think they fully understand that there’s actually quite a bit of sympathy, certainly among NDP members, I think even the broader public, but certainly among NDP members for this.”

The NDP raised concerns Mr. Engler had intimidated party members and staff “by following people to their private accommodations and to private vehicles.” The party also alleged he had disruptively confronted elected officials in public and private spaces, interrupting meetings, events, and presentations.

Opinion: It’s turning-point time for the Conservatives and NDP – but don’t expect much

Among the Liberal MPs he followed to her vehicle was Anna Gainey, now secretary of state for Children and Youth. He posted a video to X in April that shows him following her down a street to her car while asking whether she had comment on Israel and Gaza. In the video, Ms. Gainey appears visibly distressed as she twice asks Mr. Engler to “Leave me alone” before getting into her vehicle. Mr. Engler has denied she was scared and said many police officers were close by. Ms. Gainey has declined to comment.

The legal letter to the NDP from Mr. Lascaris said “if people claim to be ‘intimidated’ by Mr. Engler despite his demonstrated commitment to non-violence,” and an absence of evidence that he has assaulted or threatened to assault anyone, “then the fault does not lie with Mr. Engler.”

Mr. Engler said he had raised the $100,000 entry fee to join the race. He said he has spent tens of thousands of dollars on his bid to enter the NDP race so far and is planning a speaking tour.

Asked whether he would return the money to those who donated in the expectation he would participate in the race to lead the NDP, he said he would give donations back to anyone who asked.

Lucy Watson, national director of the NDP, said in a statement “after reviewing Mr. Engler’s full application, the Leadership Vote Committee determined he did not meet the eligibility standards that apply to every applicant.“

“He exercised his right to request a Review, and an independent Review Committee upheld that decision.”

Pro-Palestinian activist Yves Engler barred from running for NDP leadership by The Canadian Press, December 10, 2025, CTV News

OTTAWA — Self-described “agitator” Yves Engler says he has been denied entry into the NDP leadership race.

Engler says in a statement this morning he wants the party’s federal council to overturn a decision from the leadership vote committee to disqualify his candidacy.

NDP leadership rules say this committee will approve or reject candidates based on their ability to meet eligibility rules and demonstrate integrity and honesty.

The Montreal-based pro-Palestinian activist does not say why he isn’t allowed to run, and the NDP has not yet commented.Dirty Cowards!

Earlier this year, Engler was charged with criminal harassment and intimidation of a Montreal police detective and a judge is expected to deliver a verdict in the case in January.

He has previously said he raised about $90,000 to be in the race, but the NDP’s chief electoral officer has said donations can’t be accepted until a candidate formally enters the race.

This report by The Canadian Press was first published Dec. 10, 2025.

David Baxter, The Canadian Press

Français à suivre Dear activist,

We have just been informed that the NDP’s unelected three-person vetting committee has blocked my candidacy for leader. Behind closed doors, they are attempting to shut down a mass, grassroots, activist-led socialist campaign — and in doing so, have denied members their right to choose their own leader. The message is chilling: activists are not welcome in this race. The Globe and Mail has just broken the story of this blatant attack on party democracy. Our response is simple: we do not accept this decision and we are not backing down.

Email the NDP Federal Council now and demand they overturn this anti-democratic decision and let the members decide.
