in an “impossible situation.” His hands were not tied.
He tried to use his openers and band as a PR shield to both-sides genocide and they dropped out because they’d rather give up the money and exposure than be complicit.
At some point performanceartlor stops being a cool theory (a theory I have been fully on board with!) and becomes a coping mechanism by which gaylors can justify, excuse, or reason away anything terrible that Taylor or anyone in her circle might do.
Ed Sheeran is worth more than a quarter of a billion dollars. He is friends with people like Robert Kraft becuase he chooses to be. He put out that despicable statement because it’s what he wanted to say.
He has agency. He chose to be marketable instead of moral, and it backfired.
This kind of reckoning will come for Taylor one way or another, unless she beats it to the punch. And when it does, there will be theories on the timeline about how her silence is actually part of her master plan or how she can’t speak up because it’s too dangerous

There is not an ounce of evidence that Ed was motivated by anything other than money and image preservation. He has not said/done anything that indicates otherwise.
