If Adam Picked the Apple
There would be a parade,
a celebration,
a holiday to commemorate
the day he sought enlightenment.
We would not speak of
temptation by the devil, rather,
we would laud Adam’s curiosity,
his desire for adventure
and knowing.
We would feast
on apple-inspired fare:
tortes, chutneys, pancakes, pies.
There would be plays and songs
reenacting his courage.
But it was Eve who grew bored,
weary of her captivity in Eden.
And a woman’s desire
for freedom is rarely a cause
for celebration.

When God came down to Earth
To enjoy what She’d created
Took a fishing trip to Georgia
To see what She could see
Cast out a holy line
And thought She’d hooked a big one
Reeled in an oil barrel
And said, “Oh my me!”

Two Lynx oil barrels trespassed on my land at Rosebud, nearly into the river that meanders my land, one in 2021, the other in 2023.
The barrels came from Encana/Ovintiv, now Lynx, ugly piece of shit frac compressors (their noise has violated AER’s noise control directive, and my right to quiet enjoyment of my home and land for decades)
So She walked back to the highway
Flagged down a passing stranger
An old man with a kind streak
Who offered Her a toke
And just as She was partakin’
The blue lights started flashing
As they slipped the handcuffs on Her
She thought this must be a joke

So She walked out of the jail
With a rap sheet and no money
Went looking for a coffee
And passed by an angry mob
They were yelling about people
Who should suffer pain eternal
She asked one for a dollar
And they said, “Sinner, get a job”
