Fake christian Danielle Smith (she’s only Christian when it suits her and to con her religious terrorist base) says new tarshit pipeline to BC coast aligns with teachings of Jesus (Trudeau already made Canadians pay tens of billions of dollars for a pipeline to the coast for the oil rich and Alberta, all he got for thanks was being slagged and blamed for Smith’s fuckups). Smith knows shit about the teachings of Jesus, she’s as antichrist as they come.

krieger1:

Dave Parker controls the UCP Board and as an evangelical Christian sets the tone. Smith is obviously catering to the large evangelical Christian population in Alberta, particularly in Central and Southern Alberta. The rural population is being gerrymandered into control of who wins electionsRural Alberta has controlled the vote for decades, those in power set up the riding they way they did for a reason. Rural Albertans are largely ignorant because they are so deeply religious and get propagandized in church, school, and community; easily farmed into rage and hate; spoiled as fuck; and love oil and gas polluters, even when their water becomes toxic. The gerrymandering now is to tie up the rural vote power forever and Smith knows which side her bread is buttered on.

And she has already been threatened with being ousted if she doesn’t ignore the legal ruling. Just wonderful, a government telling us we have to follow the rule of law being pressured to ignore it to stay Premier. Obviously the separatists are desperate. But think about this? When our government ignores or disrespects the law, what incentive does the general population have to make society work. Making society work requires all of to follow certain ethical, moral, and common sense rules. We seem to be headed into some kind of void which will benefit no one.

Danielle Smith can’t even get a balanced budget while gang raping out Alberta’s unregulated (AER, the feds and Alberta Environment do not regulate polluters, they enable them while letting them harm Albertans) massive oil, gas and bitumen reserves. Think of those billions of dollars for our public health care Smith keeps for her own nasty devices while aiding rich fucking private health care by setting up an illegal two tiered health care system in Alberta, with her con pal Carney saying and doing nothing but giving her more and more of the public’s money. Danielle Smith’s latest bullshit scheme – to present herself as the voice of Jesus saying how much the Lord loves pipeline expansion.
As the planet burns.

Oil Pipelines Align With Jesus, Danielle Smith Tells Christian Leaders, The Alberta premier gave a biblical justification for oil expansion at a Christian conference featuring Conservative MPs and provincial cabinet ministers by Mary Stuart and Geoff Dembicki, May 13, 2026

Danielle Smith (left) at the Alberta Christian Leadership Summit on May 4, 2026. Credit: Danielle Smith/Facebook page

Building a new oil pipeline to the west coast of Canada is consistent with the teachings of Jesus, Alberta Premier Danielle Smith told a gathering of Christian leaders and organizations from across the province last week.

“We reached a landmark energy agreement with Ottawa that will pave the way for a new pipeline to the west coast,” Smith said during a panel at the May 4 Alberta Christian Leadership Summit, which featured cabinet ministers from her provincial United Conservative Party (UCP) government as well as federal Conservative MPs.

Smith was referencing a Memorandum of Understanding her government signed with Liberal Prime Minister Mark Carney last November supporting an oil pipeline through British Columbia along with a $20 billion carbon capture and storage project. And companies, their lobby groups including CAPP, Harper, Carney, et al, and you, know damned well CCS does not work at reducing emissions. It’s merely a con job to fool citizens into thinking pollution is being mitigated when it’s really being used to inject CO2 to extract more oil, resulting is more leakage, and much more pollution, and if shipped via pipelines, seriously puts life (including human) at risk if that CO2 leaks, or the pipeline ruptures which is common. And, to use to steal billions of dollars from ordinary families struggling to feed their families

The premier argued that a new pipeline would help meet growing global energy demand. The world is turning away from oil, especially Alberta’s tarshit as it’s the most harmful, polluting, habitat destroying and toxic waste making oil there is – you can thank Trump and Netanyahu’s illegal bombing of Iran and Lebanon for that. But she also had a message specifically tailored to her Christian audience. “There’s another way to look at it,” she said. “I’m sure you remember the Parable of the Talents in the Gospel of Matthew — in it, Jesus teaches about stewardship.”

Smith said that particular biblical passage refers to humankind being entrusted with resources that must be managed carefully for the benefit of other people. This “fits with how Albertans feel about the resources that are beneath our feet,” she said. The corrupt and ignorant feelings of Albertans have nothing to do with the teachings of Jesus. If anything, he warned against such rape and harm to others, and the greed that drives it.

It’s rare for a Canadian politician to explicitly link oil and gas expansion to the Bible. But there has long been an undercurrent of Christian theology surrounding Alberta’s oil patch, explained Darren Dochuk, a history professor at the University of Notre Dame and author of Anointed With Oil: How Christianity and Crude Made Modern America.

“Considering the fact she governs a province known both for its oil and religiositymuch of it fake, it is little surprise that Premier Smith tapped the New Testament for biblical justification of pipelines and extraction,” he wrote in an email to DeSmog.

Smith’s office did not respond to DeSmog’s detailed questions about the event.

Conservative MPs and Christian Leaders

The Alberta Christian Leadership Summit, referred to by some as a “Pay to Pray” event, billed itself as “a direct dialogue between Christian leadership and Alberta’s government.”

The conference included one full day of talks, panels, and networking sessions, followed by a VIP breakfast the next morning. The event has around 30 exhibitors that included a home schooling association, anti-abortion organizations, churches selling books, and right-wing groups such as Action4Canada. The event MC was former NHL player Noah Welch, who opened the day outlining three spheres of society: the home, the church, and the magistrate, and claimed that in an ideal world “Jesus is Lord over all things.”But, church must always be separate from state, and most non rural Albertans are not religious. Pimping polluting harmful pipelines to serve America’s rich is gov’t business, and most assuredly against the teachings of Jesus.

Several Alberta MLAs and ministers spoke at the conference, including Minister of Education and Childcare and Education Demetrios Nicolaides, Minister of Affordability and Utilities Nathan Neudorf, and Minister of Primary and Preventative Health Services Adriana LaGrange. On a panel, these ministers were asked how their faith shows up in their government work. LaGrange said “God has called me for this time and place”, and Neudorf said Canada’s identity is under threat and asked “are we a nation founded under God or are we not?Ya, sure, founded by hate-filled bigoted fairy tales written by men (not Jesus) and controlled by the kid raping catholic church. FFS

Other topics included banning abortion after 24 weeks in Alberta (and how to ban abortion federally) and opposing medical assistance in dying. Stockwell Day, previously a Conservative MP and former leader of the Canadian Alliance Party, spoke about resisting “cultural Marxism” that he alleged has infiltrated Canadian society.Manning, you are a fucking lying corrupt douche, harming many with your hatred.

In the lead-up to the conference, around 100 Albertan faith leaders signed an open letter claiming that the $360 entry fee excluded all but the most well-resourced and politically connected ChristianI bet many that attended are not christian, they just use it to push cruelty, hate, bigotry, get votes and con the masses leaders. Journalist Jeremy Appel was de-registered from the event just hours before it began without an explanation.

For her part, Smith focused on the biblical imperative of extracting fossil fuels, stating “we are not just extracting energy” but powering “industries and economies across Canada and around the world.” Just as Jesus intended, she explained, “we are entrusted with resources” to “be used wisely to grow and to be returned with increase.”It’s precisely this misuse of the bible and the teachings of Jesus that has me hating religions and despising con artists like Smith, Manning and Harper, who lie to pimp severely harmful products. The world does not need Alberta’s toxic bitumen, only America wants it, the most toxic polluting nation on earth. The world is turning away from oil:

According to Dochuk, Smith’s particular reading of the Gospel of Matthew is part of a broader trend in North America.

“Oil-patch Christianity and politics on both sides of the Canada-U.S. border, from Alberta to Texas, have long been informed and fortified by a reading of Scripture that stresses the God-given blessings of petroleum,” he explained.

Dochuk explained that while Smith’s reading of the Gospel of the Talents is one shared by many evangelical Christians, it is not the only interpretation. In fact, he explained, “the power of this story has been harnessed differently across time, including by eco-friendly religious citizens in our own day.”

Viewed from another perspective, he argued, the biblical passage that Smith referenced could also be seen as a call to “embrace action in answer to environmental crises and earth’s custodial needs.”Which would be the only way Jesus would see it, if he could read the bible. But, I bet he’d be livid with the way the bible was written, propagandizing and lying about much, and he’d be livid with fake christians like phony Smith and the evangelicals who rape kids, protect pedophiles, and call for genocide of Jesus’ people FFS.

Smith Grilled on Climate

During the panel with her cabinet ministers, event organizers asked Smith a pre-selected audience question, saying, “you’re going to love this.” The question was: “When will your government reject the notion of climate change?”

Smith responded that “I’m trying not to be too hard-line one way or the other,” arguing that entrepreneurs and scientists will discover uses for carbon dioxide. She then touted carbon capture technology, stating that the federal government is trying to rush this kind of “innovation,” It’s not a fucking innovation. It’s been around for years, and industry and politicians know it does not work, and that not only does it no work, it pollutes more than it even tries to sequester. It’s also a killer, a fast killer and the priority should be to increase fossil fuel production while dealing with emissions.Madness and Lies. Life hating madness and pathetic uncreative lies.

There is currently no private proponent for the west coast pipeline Smith wants to build, while negotiations between Alberta and the federal government have blown past the initial deadline of April 1. Alberta originally agreed to increase the province’s carbon price to $130 a tonne, but is now pushing back against a five-year timeline, while industry is calling for an end to industrial carbon pricing altogether.

Smith suggested that oil expansion would be easier if Carney and the Liberals hadn’t won last year’s federal election.

“We did not, unfortunately, get a Conservative government federally,” she said.Yes you did, you fucking liar. You know damned well Carney is a Harper con, and much worse than Harper at deregulating and subsidizing polluters, oil, gas, bitumen, coal and AI. And, a much more evil liar and fraud.

@locutusof.bsky.social‬:

So as long as absolutely nothing in Alberta depends on math, I’m sure the rest of the country will benefit.

Not 100% sure, because I am a grade 6 student in Alberta and my math ain’t so good.

2026: Carney Government Knew Carbon Capture Was ‘Very Limited,’ Docs Show, Briefing notes obtained by DeSmog reveal the Carney government had major knowledge gaps about CCS even as it made the technology central to its climate plan.

When Prime Minister Mark Carney announced last November he would support a massive new oil sands pipeline to the west coast, he presented the deal as a win for the climate alongside the economy.

As part of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Carney signed with Alberta Premier Danielle Smith, his government agreed to help support construction of a $16.5 billion project designed to capture carbon emissions from the oil sands industry and then bury those emissions underground.

Carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology has a long track record of failed projects and missed targets worldwide and is considered a false climate solution by many experts and environmental advocates.

But Carney claimed at the time that the CCS project, advanced by the oil industry group Pathways Alliance, would “drive down our emissions.” A federal government backgrounder on the agreement stated that the technology would assist in “making Alberta oil among the lowest carbon intensity-produced barrels of oil in the world.”

The Carney government made this bold announcement about the climate potential of CCS while only having “very limited” data about how much the Pathways Alliance project would cost and whether it was technically feasible, according to Department of Finance briefing notes ahead of a September 2025 roundtable meeting in Edmonton that DeSmog obtained.

“The [Pathways] project is at a very early stage of development, with few front end engineering (FEED) studies done and initial cost estimates based on very limited project information,” read the notes, which were released following a public records request.

Despite the government’s knowledge gaps around carbon capture, Carney went ahead and made the technology central to his climate plan. And in exchange for Alberta agreeing to support carbon capture, his Liberal government signed off on a potential new west coast pipeline that could transport 1 million barrels of oil per day to Asian markets.

As part of that deal, Carney also axed a proposed emissions cap on the oil sands, a rollback that his government seems to have privately previewed to oil producers months before the MOU announcement.

“We welcome suggestions on how to ensure emission reductions are achieved in the oil and gas sector, and in the oil sands in particular, without imposing a cap on production,” the notes read. The only way is to not pollute in the first place.

Asked by DeSmog about that specific discussion, a Department of Finance spokesperson explained in an emailed statement that the government “was seeking feedback from oil and gas companies who claimed that the proposed oil and gas emissions cap would cap production and be counter-productive to emissions reduction goals.”They lie like Carney and Smith – all the fucking time.

“The goal of the roundtable was to gather more information from key stakeholders across the energy sector in Edmonton about the pressing challenges they are facing,” the spokesperson added.

Pathways Alliance didn’t respond to DeSmog’s request for comment.

Minister Meets With Oil Executives

The briefing notes obtained by DeSmog were created to provide “speaking points” and background to Liberal Minister of Finance François-Philippe Champagne as he prepared for a September 2025 meeting with top oil and gas executives in Edmonton, Alberta.

The executives had been invited to provide input on the Carney government’s upcoming federal budget. “What are the most pressing challenges facing your sector?” Champagne planned to ask, along with “What top priorities would you like to see reflected in the next federal budget?”

This was part of a series of 50 roundtables led by cabinet officials in 27 cities across every Canadian province and territory. “These consultations are a staple of the annual budget process and the input received helped guide Budget 2025,” the spokesperson explained.

Industry attendees at the event would include leaders from the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers, Cenovus, Suncor, Imperial Oil, ARC Resources, Tourmaline Oil, Enbridge, Canadian Natural Resources, ConocoPhillips, TC Energy, Pembina Pipeline, Southbow, and TransAlta.

Champagne was instructed in the briefing notes that the executives would request substantial changes to Canada’s climate regulations at the meeting. The briefing notes reference an open letter published by Canadian oil and gas CEOs in March, where they’d demanded a “rapid, dramatic regulatory restructuring to enable investment in critical oil and gas infrastructure across Canada.”

The finance minister was prepared to reassure them. His Liberal government was working to “boost investor confidence, speed up project development and strengthen the economy by increasing competition and productivity,” according to his speaking points.

He would assure Canada’s oil and gas industry that “the Government of Canada has taken ambitious actions to make sure the resource sector can further contribute to Canada’s economy.”

Limited Knowledge About Carbon Capture

The briefing notes stated that several executives set to attend the Edmonton meeting were members of the Pathways Alliance, which had launched in 2022 with a goal of achieving “net zero emissions by 2050” in Canada’s oil sands industry.

By the time the Edmonton meeting happened last fall, Pathways hadn’t yet begun “detailed engineering and design” on the project or undertaken any preliminary work including “clearing of right-of-ways and pipeline construction and commissioning.”

Yet in early November, the Carney government released its Budget 2025, which extended CCS tax credits by five years, now stretching from 2031 to 2035. “Updates will be provided in due course as work advances on the project,” the spokesperson wrote.

Later in November, however, despite lacking basic information about how the project would be funded and engineered, the Carney government assured the country that carbon capture would result in “some of the lowest carbon-intensity oil produced in the world.” Liar Liar Pants on Fucking Fire. Canad’s oil has the highest carbon and pollution intensity in the world

Why was Carney so intent on a pipeline deal that hinged on financially uncertain and largely unproven climate technology?

According to the prime minister’s former Chief of Staff Marco Mendicino, climate has always been a secondary concern. A key goal for the Carney government, Mendicino explained at a Toronto conference in January, is “to increase our oil production.”
