Ouch. We have had wildfires from the Arctic Circle to Texas as climate change gets worse and the drain on our aquifers gets worse. Meanwhile in the US Trump keeps cutting funds for the forest service and public works. Scary.
Canada Indigenous Flag by artist Curtis Wilson
I created this design while sitting at my dinner table thinking about who I am and where I came from. I like to describe myself as coming from the four corners of the Kwakwaka’wakw territory. My paternal grandparents come from Axwamees (Wakeman Sound), and We Wa Kai (Cape Mudge); my maternal grandparents came from Ba’as (Blunden Harbour), and Wei Wai Kum (Campbell River).
The achievements, character, and work ethic of my family have enabled me to provide my creative thoughts and art to make the world a safer and better environment for my descendants and society as a whole. I strive to help us think of inclusiveness in Canada instead of exclusiveness or as the title suggests: “Standing together in support of each other”.
Throughout my life, I have come to learn all the different relationships, interactions, hardships and struggles that First Nations people have faced in this country. This history goes back to time immemorial, there have been a lot of negative impacts on both sides. I am a person that always tries to see the glass half full and even with all the difficult situations we have faced, I stll love the country I live in and am proud to call myself Canadian… and First Nations Canadian. I wanted to create a desgn that represents both my cultural heritage and the country I live in.”

The flag is based on the design of the Canadian Flag. The two designs on the red side fields ar K’utala-Salmon to symbolize the importance of family, friendships, and strength in numbers.
There are as many types of people living here in Canada as there are types of salmon. The artist, Curtis Wilson, designed this with the vision of seeing us coming together in the future, not only the First Nations people, but all of Canada.
Salmon are known for dependability and renewal. Kwakwaka’wakw people think of them as a provider and a symbol of fertility and good health. The salmon is the source of life for our people and we depend upon the salmon as our main food source in the past, present, and hopefully the future.
The design within the maple leaf on the white field is the head of the killer whale in the shape of an oval. The killer whale head is surrounded by some traditional use designs called split “U” shapes.

I have lost sleep over Carney’s decision to throw climate action under the bus. What a completely misguided fool.He’s not a fool, Carney’s a clever evil catholic Nazi who doesn’t want to put money into fighting global warming, he prefers to put our money into USA’s and Israel’s genocides, American hideously inhumane oil and gas companies, AI and military which will dramatically drive up emissions/toxic water and air pollution but put more riches into the pockets of the already insanely rich (like Carney) and his precious Brookfield
I am also a misguided fool for voting for him, though to be a bit fair to me there were no other viable options.
Maybe the NDP will rally and take over and give us direction?
