… This is of course a harrowing moment for Palestinian human rights both in Canada and abroad with recent estimates indicating that Israel has killed over 680,000 Palestinians in Gaza during its livestream genocide. …
… The lies that we hear is often used as the pretext in order for media, the state to curb our civil liberties and our Charter rights of protest and to protect the government’s complicity in the genocide in Gaza and allow them not to do anything or continue to enable doing things. And there’s been some big whopping lies. …

@NoLore:
You rarely see an interview like this in Canada, and so Canadians rarely see how tied our politicians really are to Israel.
@uquick14:
Something you will never see in Canadian corporate media. This is an absolute indictment.
@SMohyeddin:
Word salad. Canada also asked Israel to investigate itself when Israeli soldiers filmed themselves gleefully mining and blowing up a solar powered water treatment plant that Canada built in Rafah in the 1990’s. That happened two years ago. No response.
@crispy_chill:
It is embarrassing to hear @AnitaAnandMP say that a man evading ICC arrest warrant internationally for crimes against humanity, as well as corruption cases at home, should ‘investigate’ himself.
This genocidal psychopath razed the graves of Canadian peacekeepers in Gaza.
@AlexCosh_:
I’m glad Al Jazeera is asking these questions because Canadian journalists with access to Anand never would and those of us who try have our questions ignored by comms staffers who have absolute contempt for transparency and truth.
