Shutting down his businesses from operating in Canada is self-preservation.
The former is political populism, the latter courageous action, setting a precedent other democracies may want to emulate before the Nazis takeover. Or not.

I hate Musk with the power of a million blazing suns but revocation of citizenship should be a legal process, not something done in response to a petition.
The former, no, we don’t strip citizenship from even the worst criminals. The latter raises fundamental Qs about whether treason constitutes grounds for citizenship revocation, at least for dual citizens. (Canada can’t revoke citizenship for a sole citizen; it’s illegal to make someone stateless).
[Ernst] Zundel is NOT a precedent because he never obtained Canadian citizenship.
I’m all for treating Musk as akin to a Russian oligarch. He is part of the Trump administration and is actively threatening Canadian sovereignty. Ban his enterprises. But citizenship is a right, and even the most odious people enjoy rights that should be subject to legality, not unpopularity.

I signed when it was at 38,743 signatories, half a day later, it’s at nearly 100,000. I doubt anyone in gov’t will revoke the Nazi’s citizenship. I still think the petition is worthwhile to raise awareness of what a scumbag Musk is, and how dangerous he is to Canada. Much more valuable and harm preventing would be for Canada to ban X, Starlink, Teslas, all and any other products of Herr Nazi Musk

Thousands of people have electronically signed a parliamentary petition calling for revocation of Elon Musk’s Canadian citizenship over his role in the Trump administration, which is pointedly threatening Canada’s sovereignty.
The petition, making its way through the House of Commons process, was initiated by Qualia Reed, a Nanaimo, B.C., author.
New Democrat MP Charlie Angus, an outspoken critic of Musk, is sponsoring the petition, which had more than 34,000 signatures from across Canada as of Saturday evening.
Musk is a native of South Africa but he has Canadian citizenship through his Regina-born mother.
The petition says Musk, a billionaire businessman and adviser to U.S. President Donald Trump, has engaged in activities that go against the national interest of Canada.
Trump has threatened to impose widespread tariffs on Canadian products and has openly mused about Canada becoming the 51st state, drawing the ire of millions of Canadians.

The petition asks Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to revoke Musk’s citizenship and Canadian passport.
An electronic petition must have 500 or more signatures to receive certification for presentation to the House of Commons, opening the door to a formal government response.
The House is Commons is slated to resume sitting March 24, but many expect a general election to be called before MPs return.
