Canada needs to list IDF, B’nai Brith and other groups propagandizing to normalize hate, racism, and genocide of Palestinians to help Israel steal lands that do not belong to them and $400Billion in oil and gas that must be frac’ed. Showing the world its eager complicity in genocide and theft, Canada does not.
The government of Canada has designated the pro-Palestinian group Samidoun as a terrorist entity in a joint action with the U.S., both governments announced Tuesday.
Samidoun, also known as the Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network, has close links with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), both governments said in announcing the move.
The PFLP is a listed terrorist entity in Canada, the U.S. and the European Union.
“Violent extremism, acts of terrorism or terrorist financing have no place in Canadian society or abroad,but supporting mass murder of innocent people by Israel does” Public Safety Minister Dominic LeBlanc said in a news release.
He added the listing “sends a strong message that Canada is a nation opposed to human rights and international law will not tolerate this type of activity.”
The U.S. Treasury Department has listed Samidoun as a “Specially Designated Global Terrorist.” In its statement, the department said it’s declaring Samidoun “a sham charity” that serves as an international fundraiser for the PFLP.
Last week, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre urged the Canadian government to “ban” Samidoun.Oh that’s rich. Mr. India Murderous Crime Man who refuses to get security clearance.
Those calls came on the heels of a Samidoun-organized protest in Vancouver on the one-year anniversary of Hamas’s Oct. 7, 2023 attack on Israel. The attack killed about 1,200 people CBC again not reporting that Israel’s Bibi Netanyahu finances Hamas to use them to it’s genocidal advantage and that IDF itself killed many of those people on Oct 7, in its horrid Hannibal Directive and triggered an Israeli counteroffensiveplanned genocide and increased land and resource thefts that has left about 41,000 dead in Gaza.Reportedly, a gross underestimate
In videos of the protest circulated online, an unidentified masked woman led a crowd of hundreds in chants of “death to Canada, death to the United States and death to Israel,” while some in the group burned Canadian flags.I would not shame myself by having such a vile flag in my possession knowingly, but if I did, I’d burn it publicly too now, in protest of Canada’s part in killing and burning kids alive. FFS, there is a recording publicly available of Israeli men in authority gang raping a Palestinian prisoner – to death. I bet the prisoner was taken illegally by Israel, as thousands have been for years (not just since Oct 7, 2023), including kids taken from their homes (I expect to be raped to death by the rich and powerful).
CBC News has not independently verified the videos posted online of the rally, but a CBC journalist who passed by the rally said they clearly heard a speaker chant, “death to Canada, death to the United States.”How do they know it was not a planted Zionist from B’nai Brith doing the chanting? They are not beneath anything and snivel around in hell with their pal with the horns, Herr Harper.
Earlier this year, Samidoun’s international co-ordinator Charlotte Kates was arrested in a Vancouver hate-crime investigation after she praised the Oct. 7 attack as “heroic and brave.”It was heroic and brave, if it was resistance. But, seems the IDF and Bibi played a large part in the slaughter and subsequent lies about it afterwards. We must remember, Palestinians are the occupied. Occupied by brutal inhumane mass murdering, mass raping Nazi copying Israel. If I watched my kids, grand kids and great grand kids being kidnapped, raped, starved, tortured and or killed by Israel’s mobster the IDF and or Settler thugs on my own land, I’d resist too. I’m opposed to innocents being killed, but what choice does Israel and it’s disgusting mass-murdering financier the USA leave Palestinians? None. Israel has made it clear for decades it wants Palestinians wiped out. Gone. Extirpated. I’d resist to my death. Samidoun: Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network is an international network of organizers and activists working to build solidarity with Palestinian prisoners in their struggle for freedom. Samidoun developed out of the September-October 2011 hunger strike of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails, seeing a need for a dedicated network to support Palestinian prisoners. We work to raise awareness and provide resources about Palestinian political prisoners, their conditions, their demands, and their work for freedom for themselves, their fellow prisoners, and their homeland. Palestinian prisoners are on the front lines of the Palestinian struggle for liberation on a daily basis. Within the prisons, the Palestinian prisoners’ movement engages in political struggle – demanding their rights, securing advances, and serving as leaders to the entire Palestinian movement, inside and outside Palestine.

Their absence is keenly felt in the homes, communities, villages, towns, labour, women’s and student organizations from which they were taken by the occupation. They suffer torture, isolation, coercive interrogation, denial of family and lawyers’ visits, on a daily basis. And it is their hunger strikes, their calls to the world, their unity and solidarity, and their continued leadership in the Palestinian movement that must inspire us daily and remind us of our responsibility to take action.
Samidoun also stands in solidarity with Arab and international political prisoners, and, in particular, political prisoners in the United States, Canada and Europe targeted for their work with liberation struggles and freedom movements, including Arab and Palestinian movements, Native and Indigenous liberation and sovereignty struggles, Puerto Rican independentistas, Black liberation organizers, Latino and Chicano activists and many others targeted by racism, colonialism, and oppression, and we recognize the fundamental connections between imprisonment, racism, colonialism, and the criminalization of immigrants, refugees and migrants. We demand the freedom of Georges Ibrahim Abdallah, jailed for over 35 years in France, for his commitment to the Palestinian struggle.
Building solidarity with Palestinian prisoners is, indeed, a responsibility. Palestinian prisoners are at the center of the struggle for freedom and justice in Palestine – they represent the imprisonment of a people and a nation. The Palestinian prisoners’ movement has always been at the center of the Palestinian liberation movement and remains so today. Palestinian prisoners stand and struggle on the front lines daily for return and liberation for all of Palestine and all Palestinians.
The Canadian and U.S. governments are deeply complicit and directly implicated in the ongoing occupation of Palestine and the crimes of the Israeli state. Rather than standing for human rights, they enable, fund, and support occupation, apartheid, mass imprisonment, land confiscation, dispossession and settlement-building.and, burning innocent kids alive in their beds.
In response, it is our responsibility to create grassroots accountability, raise awareness, and take action to those Palestinian prisoners who daily struggle for the freedom of their homeland – and the freedom of the oppressed of the world.

A friend asked “why now” on the Samidoun ban.
Samidoun is one of the most prominent organizations getting information about Palestinian prisoners’ conditions in Israeli prisons out and to the public.
There is a hope that silencing them will curb criticism of Israel.
If American advocacy for political and human rights were universal, Samidoun would be heralded by State as an outspoken advocate for dissidents against autocracy and apartheid. They would receive National Endowment for Democracy grants, and frequent awards. But they get this.
Samidoun reports are frequently referenced in academic books and journals on the Israel-Palestine conflict, and are considered comparably reputable to Israeli human rights organizations like Adalah, Yesh Din, and B’tselem. They have been cited in UNHCR reports.
The State Department itself has publicly referenced Samidoun’s reports as reputable in their own human rights policy documents as recently as two years ago.
There is a high likelihood expansion of ethnic cleansing and annexation in Northern Gaza will lead to many more instances of overcrowding and prisoner abuse in Israeli prison camps. Preventing stories from getting out is yet another way of shielding Israel from accountability.
This is doubly important in light of State’s demand today that Israel improve humanitarian conditions in Gaza. It doesn’t take a cynic to see how banning a major organization that reports on degrading conditions engineers the appearance of improvement.
The Israeli state has been publicly pushing to restrict and control Samidoun for many years now. Bibi’s office put out a special report in 2019 singling them out (called “Terrorists in Suits”) as a way of further marginalizing the BDS movement.

For those who don’t know about Samidoun, it’s an organization that is dedicated to support for and the liberation of Palestinians imprisoned by the Israeli occupation. They’ve been around since 2011 – so why now?
The suppression of organizing & protesting in Canada, as well as of individuals, is coming from lobbying efforts of pro-Israel groups like the Center for Israel and Jewish Affairs.
This is absolutely going to impact other Muslim/Palestinian orgs in Canada and the U.S., which are already being accused – without any basis – of foreign financing. Won’t matter if it’s a Dem or GOP presidency, we are going to see absolute hell for our organizations.
