The literal leading star of Alberta’s uprising against foreign coal grubbers takes an audacious but necessary step to stop the separatist regime’s despoilation of the Rocky Mountains.
Here is CTV’s account of Corb’s courageous initiative.
Bobsuruncle:
This is great news. WE own the province and our way of life, our air AND our water, not this sorry excuse for a resident of this province. Certainly can’t call her a leader. Pile on folks, we’ll get a real leader soon with real concern for this province and the people who call it home.
Courtney Rouleau:
While I would like to believe that. Our elected government has sold us out and we are losing our ownership
@yknot05.bsky.social:
Make the announcement and a bunch of us will canvas for the idea.
Clean potable water is critical in AB where fresh water in the south is already in limited supply.
And it will get worse.
CGY itself already w river water supplies edgy Nov 2025.
AB shld value water highly!
But never does. Alberta gov’t, AER and Alberta Environment didn’t even give a shit when Encana/Ovintiv illegally frac’d and contaminated Rosebud’s drinking water aquifers. They only “regulated” and punished the harmed.![]()
@bacullenyyc.bsky.social:
I believe our Eastern Slopes should remain STRONGly natural and FREE of coal mines. #RecallThemAll
@alisonborealis.bsky.social:
LET’S DO THIS!
If you’re sitting in your urban home somewhere 300+ km away from the Rockies, thinking why should I care?
Just remember that ALL OF US get our drinking water from the Rockies and that selenium poisoning is associated with the mountain coal mines and cannot be undone.

Every Canadian should be fighting this, not just Albertans. Contact your federal MP to put pressure on the federal government to intervene. The Rockies, including the foothills, are a part of this great country and we can’t let the greed of a separatist premier destroy them, the waters & farmland.
@nigelb.bsky.social:
Delighted to see this.
Time for the environment to ride the wave of recalls and citizen initiatives!
This is the first legislative proposal (rather than a policy or constitutional proposal) under the Citizen Initiative Act.
Bonne chance & lots of hard work ahead.
A first for Alberta – a legislative petition, not just a policy petition, demanding the prohibition of all new coal mines (including Grassy) on the eastern slopes of the Rockies. Way to go Corb.
@laurieinyyc.bsky.social:
I don’t think he will have any shortage of help.
@mgrasdal.bsky.social:
I will literally run to sign this petition.
