@cupescfp.bsky.social:
In an almost unthinkable display of conflict-of-interest, a former Air Canada legal counsel, Maryse Tremblay, will rule on whether to end job action by striking Air Canada flight attendants at the Canada Industrial Relations Board.
Tremblay was appointed to chair the CIRB (Canada Industrial Relations Board) by Carney et al. Worse than Harper, Douche Fucking Corruption.![]()
@redsnoopy69:
The Liberals are really going to regret not going with Karina Gould, give it a little more time.
Mark Carney might be to the right of Pierre Poilievre…
I have no doubt about that.![]()
@CheriDiNovo:
FACT: A former @AirCanada legal council will be the one ruling on binding arbitration.
No conflict-of interest there?
Sorry @MarkJCarney what were you thinking?
Maybe we passengers are expected to start tipping attendants so they can make their rent?
@MarkKersten:
This is an example of how airlines in Canada capture regulatory and administrative bodies, to the detriment of travellers.
Every first year law student would immediately flag this as wrong. It’s also dumb, and I hope it only works in the favour of Air Canada employees.

Hajdu is a terrible, overrated minister and this is a joke. A big failure from the Carney lot. Shameful.

“Unpaid Work Won’t Fly”. What a brilliant and appropriate protest slogan!

Air Canada, this is disgusting!
So is Carney and his rich man serving Con gov’t![]()

CEO M.Rousseau: $12.38 Million
CFO A.Kazzaz: $3.1 Million
COO C.Landry: $2.93 Million
CCO L.Guillemette: $2.74 Million
Exec VP A.Meloul-Wechsler: $2.0 Million Full-time entry-level AC flight attendant earns LESS than minimum wage (27k/year before tax)

Time for AC executives to take a large pay cut #CutExecPay #PayYourStaff
https://thedeepdive.ca/air-canadas-ceo-gets-a-233-compensation-increase-in-2022/
The comments from 2023 already raised concerns about flight attendants not being paid appropriately
@theserfstv.bsky.social:
Air Canada is cancelling flights and placing the blame on the union striking but before the media manipulates people losing their ability to travel keep in mind that workers are reporting having to eat leftover flight meals because they can’t afford groceries
UPDATE: The liberals have ordered a return to work ending the strike less than 48 hours after it started.
Air Canada takes hundreds of millions of dollars in taxpayer subsidies yet their staff eat leftover meals because they can’t afford groceries.
Disgraceful
@DonDavies:
Once again the Liberal govt violates workers’ right to free collective bargaining. Once again, it interferes on behalf of management. Once again, it harms workers trying to gain better working conditions – in this case mostly women forced to work for free.
Utterly shameful.
@cpswoveland.bsky.social:
It is incomprehensible that airline attendants at Air Canada (or any airline) are not paid for work pre-flight! If this work must be done and they are required to do it, they should be paid and not at anything less than 100%! It is obvious that they can afford it if the CEO is making mega millions!
@jekllnnhide.bsky.social:
we all know how often planes are delayed on the tarmac for one reason or another
FA’s are not being paid all that time?
Is the pilot being paid? My guess is yes and that there’s a heeeaaaavy dose of sexism involved in this.
@johncke.bsky.social:
Solidarity with the Air Canada #flightattendants and full support for their just demands.
@unusualwhales.bsky.social:
The Canadian government has shut down the Air Canada flight attendants’ strike less than 12 hours after it began.
BREAKING: Jobs minister orders Air Canada flight attendants back to work by CTV News, Aug 16, 2025
@drkarenpinder.bsky.social:
Just freaking pay them for all of the time that they work.
And take it out of the upper management who do not deserve huge pay for no work!
This is not neurosurgery Air Canada.
@wickdchiq.bsky.social:
I think @pattyhajdu.bsky.social fucked up. Big time.
Read the room, @mark-carney.bsky.social cause I don’t think people will be happy that you ordered mostly women back to do unpaid work. You’d better have some dynamic speaking points before the milk turns sour
… It’s undermining of the power of unions to strike for better working conditions. It is a gender thing when it disproportionately affects a gender. Most flight attendants are women-identifying and/or LGBTQ so basically profits of Air Canada are based on not paying their female and lgbtq workers
@catherinewinters.com:
Perhaps the cabinet should only be paid when they’re present in the House of Commons.
@wickdchiq.bsky.social:
$100 per session
@tryangregory.bsky.social:
Reminder that the strike is about a women-dominated workforce doing unpaid labour while executives get huge bonuses.
Carney’s Liberals are exactly who we warned they were.
@march54.bsky.social:
It’s typical the rich get richer like the CEO but let’s not pay the workers until the plane moves
@leeram.bsky.social:
Boycott Air Canada
@beynate:
Some labour disputes are complicated. This one isn’t.
Air Canada should pay and treat its flight attendants fairly.
@MarkKersten:
Crazy idea, but it would kick ass if all Canadian airlines went on a solidarity strike.
Canada’s laws & rules around airlines and consumer protection (including compensation) need a revolution.
Air Canada & Ottawa are behind the times & failing hard working people & travellers.
@alt81.bsky.social:
Because of the impact to travellers, globally.
@carlmarxman.bsky.social:
Management could have solved that problem instantly by meeting the union’s completely reasonable goals.
Forgive me but I have very little sympathy for those opposing the union.
@andydashiell.bsky.social:
This cannot be said often enough.
@tracey31.bsky.social:
I loathe them at the best of times
this is despicable.
This is bad really bad and we know that no one makes a decision without this PM who I supported signs off.
Not okay, Liberals never learn.
While I’m raging what has he done other than dole out money to assorted industries.
Much to exclusively US companies!!
Not okay.
@spinster777.bsky.social:
The milk is beyond sour, and attracting flies. Why does @liberalca.bsky.social
pick the worst option so consistently.
Because Carney is a Harper Reforma-Con, he’s not liberal or progressive. He’s an old white man catholic misogynistic caveman.![]()

We’ll have to suffer thru a PP PM (hopefully a minority) before we can get back to a somewhat centrist party, I guess. I wish the NDP would get their shit together.
Pee Pee is disgusting as are the CPC MPs and staffers and boss (Harper), but, at least they do not pretend to be something they are not. Carney is a fraud, a million times worse and more even than Harper or Pee Pee could ever try to be.![]()
