Every time I hear talk of a north #pipeline to the BC Coast it gets me so angry, I think about the #wildlife I have photographed on the #westcoast The rest of the country fail to understand the fragile & beautiful coastal environment at risk. They think it’s just like the typical pipeline going through a flat field in the prairies & that lack of perspective is what we need to shift.

Ottawa and Edmonton have been told, repeatedly for more than a decade, that there will be no Indigenous support on the North Coast for any oil pipeline project. Coast Tsimshian, Haida, Heiltsuk and recently held a press conference with BC premier David Eby that this is a no.

From what I’ve been able to read in the media, it isn’t simply that BC is refusing to participate.
Neither BC nor First Nations were even asked to participate in bitumen pipeline and oil-tanker-on-the-north-coast discussions up to this point.
