WILLIAM R FRICK:
Pretty much sums it up. Thank you! Hard to be optimistic.
John Crowe:
Good riddance to one of the worst years ever, maybe THE worst.
Maria Jette:
…so far.
Alas for all that’s been lost…so much that’s unrecoverable. I woke up in the middle of the night thinking about the East Wing and the vast number of staff who just watched Trump command it be razed, and all those workers comply.
Then I started thinking about the WH employees who’ve been working there for years, through a string of presidencies, quietly cleaning and arranging and cooking and serving, keeping everything in the physical plant humming along so smoothly. What were they thinking? Or had they all been shooed away and replaced this year—by new people without nagging institutional memory?
But Happy New Year, one and all!
Sigh.
t4Ms:
I’ve never seen you more accurately depict a sadder, more profound scene. Perhaps tears are valid, even necessary, at the end of 2025 if we are to emerge smiling at the end of 2026?
Laurel Rutz:
I love the incredulous expression on Baby 2026’s face! Acknowledgement of the cruel abuse of our Con
JimBob:
As always, you nail it…but I’m not surprised as talented as you are!
Anne:
That so much needs to be Trump getting deported.
mackb909:
Amen to that. Let’s make 2026 a happy one- mass RESISTANCE. Strike, fill the streets, flood the boxes of atheists bought-off politicians with emails and voice mails, filltjstreets, confront all the corporate and celebrity collaborators and profiteers. 2026 to the people, not Trump and all his fascists and oligarchs!
