Trevor Tombe synergizing with the Enemy, Canada-hating quisling Danielle Smith and her NaZiP. I used to respect Tombe, not now, not ever again. Quit the corrupt abusive propagandizing panel FFS!

@TomEngel18:

I respect Trevor Tombe, but no one with who is concerned about a process being a sham should participate in it.

Smith will use his participation to justify the results.And Tombe is much smarter than the idiots Smith puts on her “Get what she wants” Panels. Just disgusting. Synergy cons most Albertans, notably rural, but Tombe is too smart, or so I thought, to fall into the trap of being synergized by one as vulgar and corrupt as Smith. Just another betrayal that fits the disgusting betrayals by Harper Roadkill Carney.

abpoli @trevortombe

@QSusieQQQ:

Tombe’s involvement surprised me. If he hadn’t seen the “survey” before he agreed to participate, I would have thought he’d resign on the spot once he saw it. Complete sham.

@CStiles83:

100% bang on.

@LukaszukAB:

.@ABDanielleSmith needs to realize that it is not up to her to decide which rules will apply to the #ForeverCanadian petition. Elections Alberta will make that decision.

Smith created a relaxed set of rules for separatists. Shouldn’t these rules apply to all?Not in Smith’s Nazi world

ableg #cdnpoli

@Isuckatpicking:

Curious as to why Danielle Smith said today that your petition will require over 280,000 signatures because as she stated it falls under the old rules.

@Wetcoastlad:

Dani trying to interfere with Elections Alberta affairs, say it ain’t so

@GummyGamer9:

Smith is running Alberta like her buddy Trump is running the US. Rules only apply when convenient or on their side, when the rules, including the rule of law, conflict with their interests, they implement changes so those rules either don’t apply or only apply when approved.

@AbJrogg:

Sounds like? Lol. Smith is a wannabe Governor. Next she’ll be building a “Bear and cougar, muskeg Alcatraz”.

@gthomsonink:

A highly respected economist is participating in the premier’s propaganda stunt. I asked him why.

Trevor Tombe is not being paid.

Why Join Danielle Smith’s ‘Alberta Next’ Road Show? A highly respected economist is participating in the premier’s propaganda stunt. I asked him why.

Don Heppner:

Well, this certainly damages his credibility.

Howard Doughty:

By all accounts, Professor Tombe is not a stupid man nor is he a person unfamiliar with notions of ideology, partisanship, subjectivity, the vast literature on the scientific method, “facts” and “values” in the social sciences, and so on.

Tombe’s claim that it is possible to serve on such a committee and still “steer clear of politics” is absurd. Merely signing on to the job is an inherently political act.

Tombe’s suggestion that his decision to serve on Smith’s panel could be explained by naivety on his part suggests only that he thinks we are … stupid, that is.

@RichardKnack:

Why would a “respected economist” stay involved in a slanted survey with misinformation & propaganda being asked ?
Why not speak out and admit it’s wrong ?

@jennAA2014:

I have respected his ability to not be partisan but associating himself with this is not a good move. The entire exercise is appalling. We aren’t even getting unbiased surveys we can answer questions about. Let alone the xenophobic flames it fans.

@gfinockio:

I think in five years’ time (or less), Mr. @trevortombe will regret his participation with this “panel”.

@HGanshorn:

Do panel members have to sign an NDA? That’s what they did to teachers and curriculum experts during the curriculum consultations. Pretty hard to refute a cherry-picked quote next to your photo if you’ve signed an NDA.

@MondoABx:

Certainly raised a lot of eyebrows seeing his name involved. Thank you!

@MimiTrixie:

Unfortunately in this case ‘naive’ doesn’t quite pass the smell test….unfortunately.

@yield2yetis:

Being ‘naive’ is the least of it.

Having his assessments gloated over by extremes, for as he says: “There’s almost nothing that’s unambiguously good or bad” will add fuel to Smith’s arson.

Mr Trevor Tombe may be a slightly less respected economist, already.

YYCDavid:

It’s interesting that Tombe agreed to join the panel. I won’t be surprised if he eventually quits it in protest at the Chair’s intolerance of any dissent. If he does stick it out no doubt he will stand in opposition to the predetermined conclusions the panel has already made.
