Of course, we have the narrow-minded Conservatives, who think the world will end if we push for our fair share of royalty income. The review panel proved to me that Ralph Klein’s massive budget cuts would not have been necessary, if the province had been charging proper royalties on our oil and gas. The government had no business closing thousands of hospital beds, driving thousands of doctors and nurses from our health-care system and putting people’s lives at risk. Now, our health-care system is in ruins and we are trying to play catch up. We can thank Ralph Klein and his government without a plan, of which Ed Stelmach was a part. [Emphasis added]
