Thank you for this talk Ron, it must have been agonizing to do; it was agonizing for me to listen to and watch. My condolences to you, and your loved ones, and the loved ones of the many others that died or are dying because of living frac’d, and or have lost their homes, or had to leave them and their dreams to escape the poisoning. I do not know why I stay. Love I suppose, love for the big sky, my prairie land, the river that runs through it, and wild beings that live there.
Frac’ing is an unrelenting siege of criminal madness, a “brute force ignorant experiment” that isn’t even economical without billions of dollars in subsidies, special favours, frac-friendly “regulators” and judges, non disclosure agreements/gag orders, ripping off investors, deregulation, special plans helping the criminals walk from clean-up and harms, freebies, and permanently destroyed water. Those of us living in frac fields – and wildife, our pets and livestock – are the guinea pigs, experimented on without our consent and not informed about the toxicity; no authorities or companies are keeping notes and the few that are, refuse to share.
Since Encana/Ovintiv invaded my community in 2001, on top of contaminating our air, land and water, and violating my legal right to quiet enjoyment of my home and land, my house and outbuildings have been broken into repeatedly, the most recent break-in this winter. This year, the fuckers even stole my snow shovel. Who the hell is that low? My place was never broken into before frac’ing invaded. Some break-ins happened when I was out hauling water and running errands for a few hours, or taking my dogs to the kennel before a speaking tour, or giving journalists the frac tour.
I don’t call police to report crimes anymore because they protect frac’ers while trying to silence the harmed even though we the people pay their wages, pensions and expenses.
If criminals are caught stealing on oilfield leases in Alberta, the police take prompt action and heavens to Betsy – even press charges. If stealing from ordinary citizens, shrug – the police haven’t the budget or time. If you speak out against the frac crimes, look out.
Frac’ing is one of humanity’s most inhumane and stupid inventions.

A friend drove two hours today for her breast cancer chemotherapy only to learn it was canceled due to NIH cuts. Clinical trial ended midstream. No treatment, no restart, no plan, no information. Her bro-in-law’s chemo was also canceled.
