I’m sure Carney and Smith know that no oil or gas companies are stupid enough to pay for another tarshit p/l to west coast, or a frac’d gas p/l to Churchill, knowing well that both are money losing projects shipping products the world is turning away from, thanks to Trump. So Harper Carney will sell off our airports and make ordinary Canadians pay to lose money for rich fucking American polluters, while decimating the public service to finance stupid stolen child and woman abusing American AI and the American war machine for Israel’s genocides, and defunding Canada’s public health care.

Grateful to @daviddoel.bsky.social for clearly and thoroughly breaking down Mark Carney’s economic updates and “Sovereign Wealth Fund” and giving airtime to serious opposition to the typical shell game that is privatization
Mark Carney Shows Us His True Colours 22:50 Min. by The Rational National, May 4, 2026
@parismarx.com:
Mark Carney cares about money; he doesn’t care about people.
@bhaggart.bsky.social:
“Mark Carney may be talking like a Nordic social democrat but he is governing like a Thatcherite.”
This is exactly correct. Carney’s words do not match his actions. His sovereign wealth fund that isn’t is only the starkest example.
There’s a word for someone who says one thing and does another.

Carney’s fundamental dishonesty regarding his economic agenda is something we‘ve never seen before in Canadian politics. It treats Canadians as chumps — say the right words and the suckers’ll buy anything — while robbing us of the opportunity to have an actual debate about the country’s future.
It‘s profoundly cynical

Raj correctly points out how Carney is kneecappimg social programs, and working to privatize government services like airports.
Also worth noting: the first-ever (AFAICT) cuts to CPP premiums, which raises for the first time the potential for future rollbacks of a previously unassailable program.
