Colson Whitehead, two time Pulitzer Prize-winning author: “I have no hopes for 2025. Humanity is disappointing. We killed the earth. Villains triumph and the innocents suffer. I imagine these trends will continue.”

I used to be optimistic, cheerful and looked for the best in people even those filled with evil and hate because I learned long ago how cruel life is and how even more cruel humans are.

All hope died in me decades ago when I discovered Encana/Ovintiv, led by rich shit Gwyn Morgan, illegally intentionally frac’d my community’s drinking water supply, enabled by politicians, lawyers, regulators, academics, experts, our county and community members swallowing the company’s lies and promises for a few dollar dregs dropped here and there. Morgan has yet to apologize; I believe he never will because he’s just another rich coward. A little man, in more ways than height.

My hope never recovered; it never will as long as frac’ing continues.

I feel only dread for what’s ahead: the horrors and suffering from human pollution-caused climate chaos, frac’ing and the endless abuses by billionaires rotting all over themselves to get richer buying favour from the ugliest convicted felon and lying abuser of women on earth.

What 15 Very Different People Hope to See in 2025 piece on mostly what CEOs and economists hope for by Peter Coy, Jan 2,2025, The New York Times That Zionist schlagg-paper lost all credibility years ago, especially recently with their hideous cruel lying enabling Israel’s genocide

That is the most honest thing I have seen in the NYT in ages.

There are 12 other answers but, as you'll see by reading the first two responses, @colsonwhitehead.com pretty much sums it upwww.nytimes.com/2025/01/02/o…

Roland Busch, the chief executive of Siemens, the industrial company based in Munich:

2025 will be the year of industrial A.I. It will be a powerful tool to address skilled labor shortages and boost productivity, creating substantial growth opportunities.

Siva Sivaram, the chief executive of QuantumScape, a developer of solid state lithium-metal batteries based in San Jose, Calif.:

In 2025, the race for global battery supremacy will intensify amid growing demand across sectors like transportation and A.I. The battle for lithium-ion batteries is lost to China, but the future depends on next-generation technologies that outperform them. I hope the United States leads in this new era of energy storage.

I couldn’t help but notice the first two bros are CEOs while Colson is a writer in addition to being, apparently, the only one still living in the real world.

Among first things Steve Harper did when he first got into power was destroy funding for the arts, culture and programs for women (that had tried to create a bit of equality). Hitler and the Stasi learned – to their detriment, the power of the arts; Cry Baby Adolf Orange, Misogynist White Supremacist Monster Musk, Pierre Picklehead Poilievre (Harper’s stupid repugnant puppet) and Harper’s IDU know not to make the mistake of nurturing the arts. We ordinary people must do it ourselves.

When someone suggests taking over another country, it’s not 'expansion'—it’s invasion. This is deeply irresponsible language from an increasingly irrelevant @cnn.com

So who will be the oligarch to show some spine, refuse to donate, and talk about it? This mass falling in line is concerning.

So who will be the oligarch to show some spine, refuse to donate, and talk about it? This mass falling in line is concerning. In my experience, most humans are cowardly selfish takers who give when it benefits them. I expect the rich and judges will live in Trump’s diapers.

Apple CEO Tim Cook will personally donate $1 million to the inaugural committee of US President-elect Donald Trump.

‪Dende‬ ‪@dendesnail.bsky.social‬:

As a foreigner, I’m confused about where is that money going ? Is it for the inauguration party only ?

‪Nofud‬ ‪@nofud.bsky.social‬:

My understanding is that the inauguration fund is unregulated and can be used for anything, including personally enriching the candidate.

Before Trump, candidates would detail what it was used for but it was just an empirical ethical rule, not a requirement.

Pierre Picklehead and his puppet meister lie like Adolf Orange, and Canadians just like Americans and Germans are falling for the lies. Why? Because humans love lies and fascists that abuse those who worship them, know and exploit this.
