Last week, a mysterious Instagram account was attached to my main Meta account overnight, and when I woke up, all my accounts—Facebook, Instagram, Meta Quest VR & Whatsapp—were permanently banned.
If I wanted to appeal, I had to log into the Instagram account that didn’t belong to me!
AKA the perfect catch-22 set-up. Meta makes it INCREDIBLY difficult to get through to their customer service. I eventually got through to their VR division, only to be told today that they’ll be siding with the hackers.
My accounts of 18 years, wiped away.
And after today’s news? Good riddance.

Sorry man… The thing that really sucks is they won’t let me download my 15 years of intellectual property back… Like they say they will. All of my photos and life are gone. I’ve tried downloading it for over 24 hours and it won’t let me.
CJTO@cjtoronto.bsky.social:
Yeah, they’re just brutal.
I lost messages from my deceased mother and friends, business contacts, IP, photos, everything.
And Meta could not give two tiny shits.
It was eye-opening, though. We trust and rely on these tech giants far too much. If they flip the switch, you’re fucked, no recourse.

Brazil gives Meta 72 hours to explain new fact-checking policies
Brasília (AFP) – Brazil on Friday gave social media giant Meta 72 hours to explain its fact-checking policy for the country, and how it plans to protect “fundamental rights” on its platforms. www.france24.com/en/live-news…
Calling women ‘household objects’ now permitted on Facebook after Meta updated its guidelines by Clare Duffy, CNN, January 8, 2025
Meta on Tuesday announced sweeping changes to how it moderates content that will roll out in the coming months, including doing away with professional fact checking. But the company also quietly updated its hateful conduct policy, adding new types of content users can post on the platform, effective immediately.
Users are now allowed to, for example, refer to “women as household objects or property” or “transgender or non-binary people as ‘it,’” according to a section of the policy prohibiting such speech that was crossed out. A new section of the policy notes Meta will allow “allegations of mental illness or abnormality when based on gender or sexual orientation, given political and religious discourse about transgenderism and homosexuality.”
Previously, such comments would have been subject to removal under the policy. The changes to Meta’s hateful conduct policy were first reported by Wired.
Meta had hinted in its announcement about its content moderation policy changes Tuesday morning that it would get rid of restrictions on certain topics, such as immigration and gender identity, and allow more political discussions. But the updated policy shows just how quickly Meta is moving to enact CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s vision for “free expression.”Ya right. Try posting your view of the orange king on Nazi Musk’s X, and watch your account get shut down if you call out his abuses and hideous cruelty.
Meta on Tuesday also announced it would do away with its network of independent fact checkers in the United States and will instead rely on user-generated Pffft. I doubt that’s true, I bet most will be AI generated, AI “notes” intentionally created by bigots and hate and rage farmers
“community notes” to add context to posts. It also said it would adjust its automated systems that scan for policy violations, which it says have resulted in “too much content being censored that shouldn’t have been.” The systems will now be focused only on extreme violations such as child sexual exploitation and terrorism.
I seriously doubt that. FB is bad shit, it always has been in my view.
Zuckerberg acknowledged that the new approach will mean “that we’re going to catch less bad stuff, but we’ll also reduce the number of innocent rapist, racist, women beating
people’s posts and accounts that we accidentally take down.”
A Meta spokesperson noted that the company will continue to prohibit attacks against certain groups, such as those based on ethnicity, race and religion, as well as prohibiting slurs, under the policy. And the spokesperson said that the company will continue enforce its policies against targeted bullying and harassment, as well as incitement of violence.except against women, girls and Palestinians?
The company’s Tuesday changes come as the company and its leader have sought to curry favor with Donald Trump and other Republicans ahead of the president-elect’s second term, echoing in its announcement longstanding criticisms that Meta was “censoring” conservative voices.
Trump welcomed the changes that means they’re cruel, misogynistic, pro rape, and inhumane
in a press conference Tuesday and said he thinks the changes are “probably” due to threats he’s made to Zuckerberg in the past. But some experts who study the online information ecosystem raised alarms that the changes could lead to more viral false claims and hate speech on Meta’s platforms.
Among the other changes to Meta’s hateful conduct policy, the company removed a prohibition against statements denying the existence of “protected” groups, such as statements that a certain group of people doesn’t or shouldn’t exist. The policy also now allows for content arguing in favor of “gender-based limitations of military, law enforcement, and teaching jobs.”Cowardly weak pathetic old angry white men can’t take the competition. Cowardly vile fuckers.
The company also updated its “misinformation” policy to note the dissolution of its US-based fact-checking network.
Attorney General Jorge Messias told journalists his office could take “legal and judicial” measures against Meta if it does not respond in time to an extrajudicial notice filed Friday.
Citing Meta’s “lack of transparency,” Messias said the company “will have 72 hours to inform the Brazilian government of its actual policy for Brazil.”
Meta founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg stunned many with his announcement Tuesday that he was pulling the plug on fact-checking at Facebook and Instagram in the United States, citing concerns about political bias and censorship.
The move has raised concerns in multiple countries, including Brazil, that are vulnerable to misinformation.
The Brazilian presidency said the changes at Meta were a key topic of discussion in a phone call Friday between Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron.
The leaders “agreed that freedom of expression does not mean freedom to spread lies, prejudices and insults.”
Also prompting concern were Meta’s new, looser restrictions on speech concerning topics such as gender and sexual identity, announced Thursday.
According to the government’s extrajudicial notice, the new guidelines allow users to associate sexual identity with “a mental illness or abnormality” and allows “the defense of professional limitations based on gender.”
“We will not allow, under any circumstances, these networks to transform the environment into a digital massacre or barbarity,” said Messias, highlighting Brazil’s strict laws protecting children and vulnerable populations.
‘Respect Brazilian legislation’
The extrajudicial notice asks for clarity on how social media algorithms will be designed “in order to unwaveringly promote and protect fundamental rights.”
Brazil also wants to know what measures will be adopted to prevent gender-based violence, racism, homophobia, transphobia, suicide, hate speech and other fundamental rights issues.
The country also wants details on how complaints can be filed, and how contradictions and disinformation in the new user-generated “community notes” system will be dealt with.
“The government will not stand idly by, as you can see,” said Messias.
The decision to hand the deadline to Meta came after a government meeting overseen by Lula on the implications of the changes for Brazil.
“All companies operating in the country must respect Brazilian legislation and jurisdiction,” Lula wrote on X after the meeting.
On Wednesday, Brazil’s public prosecutor’s office sent a letter to local Meta representatives giving the company 30 days to clarify whether it intends to implement the fact-check changes in the country.
Brazil’s Supreme Court has taken a strong stance on regulating social media platforms.
Last year, judge Alexandre de Moraes blocked Elon Musk’s X platform for 40 days for failing to comply with a series of court orders against online disinformation.
AFP currently works in 26 languages with Facebook’s fact-checking program, including in the United States and the European Union.

Andrew Tate has probably posted over 100 videos in which he glorifies beating women into submission and exploiting them for sex.
The next Counselor to POTUS is swooning over him telling him she’s a fan.
This is fucking embarrassing for America.
38 gross seconds.
Alina Habb is Trump’s senior lawyer publicly gushing over self admitted abuser of women and sex trafficker, Andrew Tate.
I don’t think it’s embarrassing. I think it’s rapist Adolf Orange using legal industry power to normalize rape and abuse of women/girls, escalate misogyny, prepping to legalize rape for convicted felon abuser of women Trump and his/Musk’s rabid rapist base.
Humanity is ugly and billionaires and felon rapists know well how to exploit that ugliness for massive personal gain. Decades later, I still can’t believe how many people, including those I didn’t know pressured me to “friend” them on FB. What fucking hogwash. I have real friends; what do I need fake friends for? To feel important? Popular? I’ve never been popular, and never will be. Quitting addictions is hard, I know that well. I also know well it can be done.
Nathan Livingstone (MilkBarTV)@TheMilkBarTV:
Andrew Tate’s Romanian indictment graphically details how Tate allegedly during sex choked a woman with one hand while continually punched her in the temple with the other. She believed she was going to die as it happened.
He supposedly strangled her so hard it burst the blood vessels in her eyes (a medical report confirms this) & punched her so hard he damaged her breast plate.
I explain to @ShannonJoyRadio
At least 10 women have made formal accusations of rape & sexual assault against Tate (6 leading to criminal charges) dating back to 2012. 7 out of the 10 allege they were strangled by Tate (without consent). 2 to the point of unconsciousness.
