I have a relative that worked with her back in the nineties when she worked on the Calgary school board … my relative is extremely nice and won’t say a bad word about anyone… They fucking hate Danielle Smith with a passion and said she’d throw her own mom under a bus if it would advance her career…. Me too. I remember thinking how scary it would be if she got elected to replace Kenney when there was the vote of no confidence on him. A couple people I know complained about Kenney (cause of his COVID measures) and stated that they thought things would be so much better under Danielle. I simply said, “Danielle is dangerous. She is being backed by an extremist lobby group and she’ll do whatever they want. She is scarier than Kenney.” They didn’t believe me back then but now even they’re questioning things due to the AHS allegations, her going down to Florida (again), and her wanting to create an APP. TBA has their own version of the U.S.’s Project 2025.

She’s in Alberta, that’s why. Alberta voters worship the noxious unlawful lying Danielle Smith. The more abusive, racist, bigoted, hideous and cruel the politician, the more rural Albertans adore them. Rural Alberta voters would vote in Satan if they could, notably the extremely inhumane TBA evangelicals. There are many cruel selfish raping hate-filled religious people in Alberta; they are deeply ignorant, proud of their ignorance and hatred, and control the vote.

It never ceases to amaze me that people just completely forgot about that whole incident. After years of toeing the wild rose party line and even being the party leader she just switched parties, literally weeks after publicly criticizing other members of wild rose for doing the same thing.

Yeaa.. it’s actually insane how they behave. I was around it for a bit and was disgusted. These people shouldn’t hold any sort of political power as they aren’t for the people.Same as Herr Harper, Trump, Pierre Picklehead, Scott Moe, John Rusted, Doug Ford, the cons in NS, the cons in MB, etc etc. Yes, they are all too evil to be allowed to wield power over others, but voters love to vote for evil and even more love to vote for stupid, and addicted to voting for that which abuses them and their loved ones and our environment (I think they think it makes them Godlike in power, to vote for that which destroys life, air, land, water).

She got in because the previous UCP leader and premier, Jason Kenney, got a vote of no confidence from his party members. Basically that vote was a coup by the lobby group Take Back Alberta, which has been backing Danielle Smith. They pushed to get her voted as the new leader but it wasn’t easy, took several rounds of voting. There was a provincial election in 2023 and she got a majority govt. cause almost all rural ridings voted UCP. But they definitely lost seats from the 2019 election under Kenney. Here we are 2 years later and our award winning public health care system is being underfunded and dismantled, she’s working on doing the same in our public education system, she wants to withdraw our money from the CPP to create their own pension so they can control how it’s spent, they hijacked a bunch of public employees’ pension plans (including mine) and anointed an “arms length” management company to take over managing these pensions (millions has been lost due to risky investments in failing oil companies),educational assistants from various school districts have been on strike cause they haven’t been paid a decent wage in 10+ years, and the nurses and teachers’ unions are in contract negotiations and it’s not going great. Oh yeah, and Danielle Smith would rather fly down to Florida on the Ab taxpayer’s dime to speak to an extreme right wing idiot rather than focus on the concerns with U.S. tariffs, contract negations, and the AHS scandal. I know there’s a lot more but that’s off the top of my head.
Also, the lobby group supporting Danielle Smith, Take Back Alberta, have an agenda that has comparisons to the U.S.’s Project 2025 to force all of us to live under their insane inhumane raping religion. So basically they would love to create the same chaos that is currently happening in the states.

Yeah that about sums it up. Plus not to mention there’s a plurality that have become magafied and voted in this separatist. The take back Alberta is also Russian backed and has a lot of very wealthy donors if you can believe it. It almost seems insidious how she got in since she’s the one candidate that is unhinged enough to do their bidding no matter what. There’s a bunch of Alberta that cheers on this because they thought this would benefit them when all it’s going to do is use austerity politics and privatization and when that doesn’t work to try to divide everyone by threatening to strip their rights wherever and wherever applicable. There’s also the resentment towards equalization payments or anything that helps poor people. These extremists are exhausting and that’s been the point all along.

Yes part of TBA’s version of Project 2025 is to separate from Canada. I also do believe they’re getting donations from the U.S. where a lot of it is likely back channeled to Russia. TBA has been fined more than $120,000 for these funding violations: https://www.cbc.ca/amp/1.7450567.
