A Cheyenne company was cited for violating state water quality rules. The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality cited Badger Daylighting for dumping crude oil onto private property. DEQ emergency response coordinator Joe Hunter said a manager at the company ordered employees to dump oil that is normally hauled to Colorado for disposing. Among the company’s specialties is removing drill mud, cleaning oil drill rigs and cleaning fracking tanks. … Hunter estimated that DEQ sees about two dozen cases of illegal dumping in Wyoming each year.
